Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is produced by the human body and is necessary for

the basic functioning of cells. CoQ10 levels are reported to decrease

with age and to be low in patients with some chronic diseases such as

heart conditions, muscular dystrophies, Parkinson's disease, cancer,

diabetes, and HIV/AIDS. Some prescription drugs may also lower CoQ10

levels.

Levels of CoQ10 in the body can be increased by taking CoQ10

supplements, although it is not clear that replacing " low CoQ10 " is

beneficial.

CoQ10 has been used, recommended, or studied for numerous conditions,

but remains controversial as a treatment in many areas.

This like many supplements does have risk of quite a few side effects. I

would not take it without conferring with my doctor and him recommending

it.

I don't know how many meds you're on or how many conditions you have but

most of us need to be very careful about introducing additional

medications and supplements are included in that caution.

Jon Egger, If I haven't officially

welcomed you...WELCOME My chiropractor ( with the OK from the

pulmonologist) suggested that I take the Co Q 10

as well. I do have very mild PH ( the Pulmonologist is not concerned

right now) and they agreed that the CoQ 10 may be

beneficial to keep me stronger. Both said it couldn't hurt.

Z.

I love going to my chiropractor! And I have also taken CoQ10 but I have not resumed it since I completed the Step Trial. My pulmonary doctor in Atlanta told me that it would give me energy, along with the NAC.

Toodles!
