I once had one come back for JD (4th grade, profound loss, strictly oral, and with an IEP requiring him to use our personally owned FM system) that he would not benefit from the use of ANY assistive technology. EVERYONE else in the room turned and looked at him and voiced disbelief. You never saw a tester backpedal so fast! Of course he blamed it on secretary error - transcribing his notes correctly. Anyway, glad things are a success for you! -Kay Kay kay@... The Listen-Up Website http://www.listen-up.org

I completely agree. It was either ignorance on their part, or purposeful intent to avoid spending money. I just did not know to question it. I do now, thanks in part to your website. I just want to tell everyone my story so that every parent will advocate until their child's needs are met. > Anyway, glad things are a success for you! They are getting better, and I know that I know what to do to continue making sure that we continue to have future successes. I want my son to have a " " or a " JJ " story too! Even with all the great local resources I have found, the outreach to parents and kids is very lacking. I hope that I will be able to improve that in my area some day. Thanks for the encouraging message! Tracey > > -Kay > > Kay > kay@... > The Listen-Up Website > http://www.listen-up.org >
