Guest guest
I received a phone call today from Dr. on's office at Duke asking if I'd be interested in rescheduling my appointment for next week. (My appointment with him is currently scheduled for this Wednesday at 3pm...what on earth was I thinking???) Well I said yes so fast and so forcefully that Tina (the girl who called) started laughing out loud. So I still see the rheumatologist tomorrow morning but my PFT, echo and app't with Dr. on, my pulmo, is rescheduled for a week from Thursday! I'm sure I'll have to visit dracula for bloodwork tomorrow too but I don't care because that Wednesday appointment is gone! My sister , her husband Mark and their 5 children are leaving NY this evening and will arrive here tomorrow afternoon. I'm so excited I can hardly stand myself. My son won't be here till Thanksgiving Day because he has school till late in the day Wednesday but then he's going to stay till Saturday or Sunday. The next few weeks are my very favorite time of year and I couldn't be more grateful to be here again to share this season! Guest guest
Peggy Meanwhile I have doctors telling my other doctors they need to make me an appointment and do more labs. I'm just sitting at home and I get this call from Oncologist nurse that rheumatologist wants me to see him and he wants to do some blood work first. Other than my counselor I did have only one Dec appointment but now that adds a lab and appointment so back up to three. I did make them wait unti Dec rather than this week though. Sometimes I think they are all selling my blood or something..lol > > MB, I am so glad for you.. This is NOOooo time of the year to see > Doctors.. Guest guest
Bruce, My PA called in Aug to see why I wasn't coming so I just ask her what they were going to do other than tell me to keep on with whatever I'm doing, it's working. They just listen and I go home.. I know I have IPF and they can't really change that.. if I get in need of something all I do is call ore-mail and thats it. In Jan. I'll have all the tests so I'll just make like I am going on an adventure.I do know I can not do the PFT's with any success because I don't have the air....WATCH IT !!!!!!!!LOL I hope you come out of the tests your doing well. I'll tell you the truth. I have been so happy NOT going to see any Doc'. All I have had this year was my cadillac'. That was a pain in the boootttaaa.I am so close to just done with all that stuff. I am really healthy, just can't breath worth a crap.hate that. Guest guest
Peggy, Well I still have to see the rheumotologist tomorrow and I will definitely have bloodwork done, then on the second I go back for my pft, echo and to see Dr. on. I'm only delaying that for a week but it's just nice not to have to do it all on Wednesday when we have company and all kinds of chaos going on! Listen Miss Peggy, don't cancel your January app't. Going to see your doctor twice a year is not too much to ask. Go let her check you out!! Beth in North Carolina Moderator Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 UCTD 06/08 "Take chances, make mistakes and get messy!" Guest guest
Bob, The newness will wear off and as Peggy says this will all start to seem like a big pain in the arse. But 2 and a half years ago I was in your shoes and it's not fun. I came to this group when I had been diagnosed for about a month and was frankly terrified. I understood nothing about this. I came here and was embraced and befriended and guided by wonderful people like Leanne, Peggy, Sher, Joyce Dalton, Vicky, Grey, Phred, P and others. Gradually my fear subsided (though it does return briefly from time to time) and one day at a time I learned to live with this illness. Most of us feel as though this group counts as a big positive in a situation where there are all awful lot of negatives. Stick around, things will get easier to cope with. Be patient with yourself! Guest guest
“Ah ,Heck I think I know Peggy, Then here comes that hard breathing and it aren’t the good kind. Some of the plmo think we’re stupid or something. Going to the same group for 2-3 years, ct’scan, breathing test every 6-8 months, then you see one of the other Dr’s in the same office, and now your to the point you gasping for air and he says come back in about a year –year & half . Heck, with him I want be here in a year & half.. Good point: I love my GP; she just has all the right answers so far. And she’s learning. That’s what’s so great. Guest guest
MB so glad that worked out for you.. And have a great extended vacation with your son and the rest of your family.. HAPPY THANKSGIVING>> patti NJ > > I received a phone call today from Dr. on's office at Duke asking if I'd be interested in rescheduling my appointment for next week. > > Beth in North Carolina > Moderator > Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 UCTD 06/08 > > " Take chances, make mistakes and get messy!
