Congratulations on your good news! If I may make a suggestion, you might

want to look into joining TOPS. They are an international organization that

offers support to those needing to lose weight. With TOPS you can follow

your own healthy diet, or one recommended by a doctor/dietitian, and still

get the support you need to lose weight. Their web site is here http://www

tops.org/

There are over 10,000 chapters around the world. Your first visit at a

chapter is free, and you are under no obligation to join. Bring a friend if

you like. If you decide to join, a TOPS member will help you fill out an

application at the meeting. The cost of joining at the meeting is a modest

$24.00 per year. This includes regular monthly issues of TOPS News, as well

as other helpful materials. Thereafter, your dues are $6 a month depending

on the chapter's bylaws.

You'll meet lots of fantastic people and have great fun while you lose

Hi Kim,

That is GREAT NEWS! Have you heard of the weight loss walking club yahoo

group? I also joined that group, since I am trying to lose weight and get

my life back in shape. It is an awesome group, with so much more than just

talking about weight loss and walking. There is a lot of Chatter about many

different things as well as encouragement! These ladies have been a huge

help to me and such an inspiration. Some of them walk 2-4 miles a day!

They also have given me a lot of advice on eating, exercise and other things

It is a really great group. This is the link, I hope it works, if not you

can just type it into the group search and find it if your interested.

Hi everyone,

a week ago Friday I had a Dr.'s appointment with the results of my

HbA1c and other stuff. Dr. said my numbers were not good and I would

have to go on insulin in the next couple of months if things didn't

improve. She prescribed generic Glucovance (5 mg glyburide and 500 mg

metformin combo) once daily and 20 mg citalopram (generic Celexa, an

anti-depressant).

What a difference! In less than a week my glucose readings went from

250 average to 131! I am testing more, started walking 30 minutes 4

days a week and eating less and tracking what I do eat. I can't

believe the difference in my appetite (I think that's due to the

Celexa) and sugar levels.

I am serious with this now, the previous time I went to the Dr.'s, the

one I saw that day basically said I wouldn't make it to 60 if I didn't

get things under control. I am 42. When I get my tax refund I am

to weigh between 160 and 200, no more. I am 5'9 " and 224 presently.

Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news about my readings

dropping so quickly :)

Thank God no pneumonia, Peggy!

I told my GYN one time that I had been in the stirrups so many times I felt like a jockey! He laughed so hard he had to turn around until he could regain his composure.

AND... I was serious!

Keep on keepin' on dear heart...

Geeta. I am just hanging in here. I am sure the antibiotics will do their job.I have been wanting to tell you how sorry I am about the horror that has happened in your country. It is so unbelievable. I do hope it is all is calm when you get home. I think I read you haven't been feeling well. Take care of you. When are you due to go home? I dread that trip for you, You will be so tired. Anyhow, I know you are enjoying that sweet baby and your family..
