Guest guest
Hi there, I am debating about flu and mennicoccal vaccines a the moment. Tasmania is having alot of mennicoccal outbreaks at for the past year, although my kids are not in the target area for getting it I am. It usually hits babies and teenagers-young adults, yes I know I am not a young adult but I do go to university with them. It is transmitted by saliva, sharing drinks, cigarettes and kissing (all of which I do not do) but I do have to sit in closed rooms with them coughing and sneezing everywhere and touching door handles desks and books Yuck - do you think I am being a little paranoid. At the kids school, they have become very aware of this disease and its deadly potential. The water bubbler was even off limits until it was modified. The kids have become very germ conscious, to the point Connor 5 1/2 has asked for a needle to stop this bug from getting him, it has been in the media that much. I had already decided to get us all vaccinated against the flu this year, not just Ainslie. Has anyone else had this vaccination? Guest guest
Hi everyone... My CF doc actually called me and asked if we got our flu shots yet and if not he would highly recommend it. *his way of saying GO DO IT NOW! " . We all got them and were hardly as sick as we usually were. I very much recommend them. Guest guest
yep, at our clinic visit in the fall they were giving the flu shot to everyone! We would have been hard pressed to get out of there without being jabbed if it hadn't been for the fact that my husband had already had one at work and I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. Our daughter did get it done though and had to have 2 doses a month apart. Any child under 8 needs 2 shots the first year they receive the vaccine. As for mennicoccal, I get confused about what we get. For sure there is one against menningitis paid for by the government and another for a different type of menningitis that is not covered. We got the free one.
