Guest guest
That would definitely set off a carb craving. Funny how such little things can do that. Really have to be a detective to figure it out. Glad you found an answer. Although I would not recommend diet sodas as the same thing can happen with those. The ones with Splenda are not as bad as the others in that way though. I had a really hard time as long as I was drinking diet sodas. An occasional one probably won't hurt but I would check your blood sugar afterwards as a lot of people say it makes their BG go up as if it were a regular one. That happened to me. Then when I mentioned it to my doctor he said others had told him the same thing. >I had been getting decaf coffee when we go out for coffee in the morning and using french vanilla creamer. The creamer has sugar in it so that would start me off craving carbs. I've changed back to diet sodas when we go out or unsweetened iced tea and things are lots better. >

Guest guest
I don't know, I've never looked for them online. Here's the official website http://www.oa.org/index.htm I really enjoyed reading their book. A dear friend is a recovered alcoholic, she's been clean 14 yrs. I didn't know her when she was using. Now she's a substance abuse counselor. Reading the book and being friends with her has helped me understand a lot about why I do what I do with food. It also helps me understand that each day is about looking back over what I did right and what I did wrong, accepting it, trying to learn from it, asking for forgiveness for it, and moving on to tomorrow. I also attended a Beth conference last fall and she said, " There are going to be some things in our lives that we will struggle with every single day until we die, so we might as well accept that and know we're gonna have to dip into The Well to get us through each day. " Somehow this was a very freeing statement for me regarding food & health. I always felt defeated because I never felt I arrived at the spot that I would no longer struggle. Letting this click for me has been freeing in that I feel open to work each day and not feeling like a failure any more.
