Someone asked a while ago what the other name of vitamin B5 is -

pantothenic acid. I buy it at GNC where you can get 500 mg caps. The way

it supposedly works is pantothenic acid is sort of the limiting ingredient

in your body's process of making coenzyme-A, which is responsible for

hormone production and lipid metabolism (among other things). So basically

it seems to help with decreasing sebum production on your face (because

more of the lipids get metabolized so they don't get excreted), and

decreasing pore size.

Hi all, I am taking a Super B Complex because of some reading that I've been

doing and it contains:

C 150 mg

Thiamin 100 mg

Riboflavin 20 mg

Niacin 25 mg

B6 2 mg

Folic Acid 400 mcg

B12 15 mcg

Biotin 5 mcg

Pantothenic Acid 5.5 mg

Dried Yeasts 100 mg

Is the Biotin in here? I am taking this supplement once daily, along with

everything else.

Tony,

I have noticed a reduction in oil on my face as well as I *think*

some shrinking of the pores, which could be attributable to the b5 (hard

to attribute something to anything when so many factors are involved). I

take 2 grams a day. The study I read, and what I have heard from other

people, indicates that you could start out with 5-15 grams per day (the

more oily your face, the more you should start out with) until you see

improvement, then work your way down to a maintenance level of 2 grams per

day.

Mike, I see there are plenty of people outside of this cea

support group taking B5 for oily skin also, and some people swear it

works. Can you tell us how long it took for you to notice a

difference?

Thanks.
