Guest guest
Someone asked a while ago what the other name of vitamin B5 is - pantothenic acid. I buy it at GNC where you can get 500 mg caps. The way it supposedly works is pantothenic acid is sort of the limiting ingredient in your body's process of making coenzyme-A, which is responsible for hormone production and lipid metabolism (among other things). So basically it seems to help with decreasing sebum production on your face (because more of the lipids get metabolized so they don't get excreted), and decreasing pore size. Guest guest
Tony, I have noticed a reduction in oil on my face as well as I *think* some shrinking of the pores, which could be attributable to the b5 (hard to attribute something to anything when so many factors are involved). I take 2 grams a day. The study I read, and what I have heard from other people, indicates that you could start out with 5-15 grams per day (the more oily your face, the more you should start out with) until you see improvement, then work your way down to a maintenance level of 2 grams per day. Guest guest
Mike, I see there are plenty of people outside of this cea support group taking B5 for oily skin also, and some people swear it works. Can you tell us how long it took for you to notice a difference? Thanks. > > Tony, > I have noticed a reduction in oil on my face as well as I *think* some shrinking of the pores, which could be attributable to the b5 (hard to attribute something to anything when so many factors are involved).
