Tort causing other problems?

My son Cohen, 6.5 months, is a twin, 6 weeks early, diagnosed with tort, severe plagio and severe bracy. He's been in the STARband for 1 week. We've been doing tort exercises for 3 weeks.

That was a lot of info....here's my question.

Cohen does not seem to want to bend in the middle. When we try to set him on the floor we have to force him to bend. We get him down in the sitting position and he automatically wants to straighten back out (usually falling backwards). When you pick him up to hold him he stiffens up. Most babies love to do the jumping thing in your lap where they bend and straighten their legs. Cohen won't do that. He'll stand stiff as a board. He hates the bumbo because it forces him to sit; yet he'll stay in the exersaucer or jumparoo forever because his body is straight, not bent.

On the other end of the spectrum....When he's in his highchair eating or in the stroller he slumps down and always seems to want to lean to one side. I feel like he's certainly strong enough to hold himself up. I think he's falling to one side because he feels like he can straighten his body out better that way.

Could any of these problems be related to his tort? Shoud I talk to his specialist?

Thanks,
