Guest guest
Sara, Her loss is very similar to Maggie's. Usually they dont' recommend a soundfield for a chlid with a loss this great, but we had hearing aids that did not use DAI and didn't have a telecoil so we gave the soundfield a try. We had 3 speakers, spread around the room, one very close to Maggie's desk/table. One near the circle area in 5K etc. It worked well until 3rd grade and the only reason it didn't work then was the teacher wasn't keen on being ampified. So we ended up buying new aids with DAI and a microlink then. Maggie loved the microlink and said it was so much clearer than the soundfield. We did some functional listening testing with her prior to trying the soundfield and that would probably be a good idea of something to do. Though the Mylink should be a good choice if you have a telecoil.
