Guest guest
Greetings! I recently joined your group after receiving a probable diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. My non-fasting blood sugar was 156, about an hour after I had eaten a meal, and the nurse seems to think I maybe diabetic. She gave me a diabetic diet to follow, and I've been pretty faithful, but it has been difficult. I'm taking Cipro for a UTI and I broke a crown on Friday the 13th. Eating soft foods is the best I can do, and I have to wait a set amount of time before eating dairy products so the Cipro is effective. Ah, the joys of growing older! :> I hope to see the dentist tomorrow, so he can put on a temporary crown, if needed. I'm scheduled for a A1C test, CBC and T3 and T4 blood tests Thursday. My original bloodwork was done after telling my doctor about feeling kind of puny lately. To their surpirse my WBC came back at 1,800, of course this was after I had a bout of the flu. My current WBC is around 3,200 so I'm heading back towards normal. Normal is 4,000 to 10,000 from what I understand. The nurse has me counting carbs. I'm allowed 30 to 45 carbs per meal and 15 carbs per snack. Personal information: I'm almost 50, married 25 years, have two kids and two cats. I've been a reporter and now work in our city building department as a technician. Hobbies include cooking, reading, sewing and decorative painting. I'm also a Yahoo group moderator (was the owner but Yahoo managed to cancel my account and one of my list moderators placed be back as a moderator.) Any way it's nice to meet everyone, MissDaisy -- Tell a friend about Food Mixes and Do Ahead Meals!
