Guest guest
I wish I could pick out a mother's day card without my eyes welling up with tears...because I know that no matter what I pick, I will be reminded that my mom wasn't there for me, made my life harder, never cared when I cried and was hurting...and that later on, when she is gone, I will still cry for the relationship we didn't have. amy barrycove@... Guest guest
Amy- I get that one too. I spend 45mins at least finding one that doesn't lie yet I can stomach giving. As far as the mourning goes. I am there too. Now and later. Got it.. And empathize M- From: WTOAdultChildren1 [mailto:WTOAdultChildren1 ] On Behalf Of barrycove@... Guest guest
As a graphic artist perhaps I should design a whole bunch of printable Nada's day cards just for us and send them to the moderator to include as PDF downloads. Perhaps - Mom, I truly believe there could only be 1 - 2% of the population that could be your equal as a mother! (percentage of general population with BPD - not a lie.) Or: Card outside- Mom how could I ever forget all that you have done and sacrificed for me? Inside of card - But I'm comforted to know that if I do forget all I have to do is call you for a reminder. Or: Mom, just knowing you are there fills me with feelings no words can express. Or simply - You are my Mom. (wish this card existed. straight to the point with no embellishments.) > I usually avoid Mother's Day cards altogether, but one year I was feeling very sarcastic and got her one of the really mushy ones. She LOVED it and made comments for years afterward about the " lovely " cards her children give her. I won't be doing that again. > >
