Guest guest
Hey All My son and DIL were over today after she was a bridesmaid in a wedding. She was nearly in tears, and ready to strangle the brides mom and 2 aunts. Among other things, Mother of the Bride said This is all about me. You ( DIL/bridesmaid) are not in charge around here, they ( MOB s sisters) are. Aunt said to Bride, just before slipping on dress, after all Bridesmaids complimented her on her hair " You wearing your hair like THAT? " and then, when bride was in tears, Oh ,I was just playing, You take things too serious. MOB, again, I ve been waiting for this day for a long time, dont you ( Bride! ) spoil it for me. What are you doing touching that.? To father of groom for touching a candle to get things moving when no one seemed to know what to do next. MOB, made the BRIDE, ( excuse me?) take time out of getting ready to get married, to do MOB ( or should I say Mada) s hair. Oh my goodness. We had 3 awful old women there, who, it sounds, were all 3 BPDs, maybe some NPD thrown in for spice. Or am I being to harsh? Doug
Guest guest
No, I don't think you're being too harsh. Something about weddings seems to bring out bpd nastiness like ants swarming over the cakes at a picnic; the behaviors you've described sound like bpd in triplicate. That poor little bride. -Annie > > > Hey All > > My son and DIL were over today after she was a bridesmaid in a wedding. > She was nearly in tears, and ready to strangle the brides mom and 2 > aunts. > > Among other things, Mother of the Bride said > > This is all about me. > > You ( DIL/bridesmaid) are not in charge around here, they ( MOB s > sisters) are. > > Aunt said to Bride, just before slipping on dress, after all Bridesmaids > complimented her on her hair > " You wearing your hair like THAT? Guest guest
I think its got marketing potential! There are SO MANY of these " Momzilla " wedding stories here at this Group. Plus other life-events (graduations, births, anniversaries, funerals, etc) and holidays all seem to bring out the very worst behavior in those with bpd so there could be spin-off series. It would be highly educational for the public AND entertaining (for those who aren't experiencing such crap personally.) But I REALLY like the educational aspect. I think the TV series " Hoarders " was/is very educational for the public. Same as " Bridezillas " . When you see the " stars " of those shows, its so very, very clear that such behaviors are abnormal and indicate a major mental dysfunction. A show about " Momzilla of the Bride " would say to the public, " This is what BPD (and the other Cluster B disorders too, probably) looks like and sounds like, and some of us have had to put up with this ugly crap behavior virtually 24/7 since birth. Welcome to MY world. " -Annie > Hey! I think the group has just come up with a concept for a new reality show! Instead of Bridezilla.....Motherzilla of the Bride! Something I'd watch if the nada got " consequences " in the end, or maybe the bride got counseling on how to come out on top of such a situation. We could start a whole new BPD TV network. BPD Comedy Network. I'm just sayin'!

Guest guest
That is just horrible. With every story about special events and nadas I hear, my heart breaks just a little bit more for those of us who have to endure this behavior. I think the show on " momzillas " is a brilliant idea!!! What a great way to bring awareness to a very hush-hushed disorder. > > > > > > Hey All > > > > My son and DIL were over today after she was a bridesmaid in a wedding. > > She was nearly in tears, and ready to strangle the brides mom and 2 > > aunts. > > > > Among other things, Mother of the Bride said > > > > This is all about me. > > > > You ( DIL/bridesmaid) are not in charge around here, they ( MOB s > > sisters) are. > > > > Aunt said to Bride, just before slipping on dress, after all Bridesmaids > > complimented her on her hair > > " You wearing your hair like THAT? Guest guest
You know how in court, they make unruly defendants participate via closed circuit TV? How about that for Nada in Laws? And a kill switch for their mikes, manned by a recovering KO. One squeek out of you bitch, and off you go! I felt so bad for my sweet DIL. She is a 3rd year med student, and pregnant. She did not need that stress at all. But they are on a trip to see PTO on Broadway this week, so yay! The Groom is a med student as well. He noted that he is applying for residencies as far from Nada in Law as possible! Good man! Guest guest
I REALLY LIKE that idea of only closed-circuit TV participation allowed for nadas during major life events like weddings, births, graduations, anniversaries, etc., with a handy remote kill-switch for her mike. Works for me! -Annie > > > You know how in court, they make unruly defendants participate via > closed circuit TV? How about that for Nada in Laws?
