We're currently going through the appeals process through tricare to

see if they will pay for my son's starband helmet. Anyone have

success with Tricare?

Hi le. I have tricare and was given run around by them wiether

they would cover my twins starbands or not. I was told at the office

that they stoped covering the helmet back in 2000 b/c it got to be to

exspensive. My family is a military family living on just an E4 pay so

we could not afford to pay $3800 for 2 bands. I went to state for help

and was turned down. we went to the Air Force Aid Society and they gave

us a grant to cover my boys bands. If you are a military family please

check with your branch family support and ask if there is any

organization that could help. If you are military check with the VFW or

American legion. Good luck and if you have any questions please feel

free to ask me.
