Mother's Day -- another take

Yes -- for most of us celebrating Mother's Day with/for/about our mothers

is tough -- *BUT* do celebrate the other mother's in your lives who deserve

praise for the love and effort that they give (including you if you

yourself are a mother!) -- MIL, daughters who are mothers, wives (if you're

a husband/dad), best friends.

Great idea. I hate mother's day so this is definitely a way to flip it and not

be miserable.

I think holidays like these: Valentines, Mother's Day, Father's Day... there's

always a segment of the population who is NOT happy.

But yes, celebrate the positive women in your life. It's good to know that there

are really wonderful mothers out there.

And it is good to know I am not alone in my feelings about my mother or this

holiday in particular.

I brought my 3 yr old daughter with me to visit my grandmother's grave- my

father's mother. If I am a good mother at all, it's because of her. She was a

loving woman, and she taught that to my dad and he to me. Without them I would

be doomed to repeat my mother's behavior as it would be all I knew. I am so

thankful to her.

And it took me a really really long time to realize this, because I am still so

caught up in being angry/sad about having a nada.
