Thanks Shellie. I changed my site at lunch time and so far it's not working. I

use Novalog insulin and I'm beginning to think my insulin is going bad before I

use it up. A bottle normally lasts me about 2 weeks but it seems like that last

200 units or so are never good? Anyone else running into this?

Kris,

I have wore the pump for awhile now. I like to change the site every 3-5

days. But I do know that sometimes one site will work better than another. If

your sugars are not comming down, there might be a slight kink in the tubing

especially near the site entrance. Your pump wont tell you if the insulin your

giving isn't going where is should be. You might not notice a leak around the

site unless you give a huge bolus.

I like to use the lower abdemon. If I go on the upper area I tend to rip it

out. I like to swithch from side to side each time and try not to get the exact

spot again. I think the manual says if you bolus and sugars don't go down

within 3-4 hours, you should change the site.

I'm an insulin pump user and for anyone else who is, I have a question.

I'm starting to think that my high blood sugars are due to not changing my

site enough. I know, you all will probably roll over but I change mine every

5-6 days, sometimes 7. However, I noticed the other day I had great control,

all day, never a number over 151. AMAZING for me. However, that was Friday and

since then I can't seem to get under 220.......How often do you all change???

Also, where's your favorite site location to use?

Kris

I am too blessed to be stressed!
