Guest guest
I found this website in a psych book I was reading and went to check it out. I highly recommend it for anyone who is either in psychotherapy or is considering it. It provides guidelines for how to judge your therapist's level of competence and professionalism. Of course this says nothing about whether or not your therapist will be a good " fit " for you, or whether or not she/he will have training or experience in your particular problems, but I think it's an excellent guideline to let you get an idea of whether or not your therapist is ethical and honest. http://homepage.mac.com/tgrugle/cyber/library/rati.tag.html Check it out. -- Jen H. Guest guest
Wow, what a really informative article, Jen! I love the clear examples describing the whole therapeutic setting and process, listing traits or techniques in descending order from the highly professional, OK version to the not-exactly-regular-but-acceptable version to the alarming, boundary-violating NOT OK version. Very, very educational and useful article for rating the professionalism, ethics, efficacy and overall quality of one's therapist and therapy sessions; thanks for sharing the " straight dope " with us! -Annie > > I found this website in a psych book I was reading and went to check it > out.
