In the abbreviations info DEAR and PUVA techniques for dealing with Borderlines

is mentioned...but I can't find it anywhere. Could someone please direct me?

I don't know where the online resources are but you can find DEAR communication

method described in " The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality

Disorder " which is briefly:

1. Describe

2. Express

3. Assert

4. Reinforce.

Also this brilliant verse which I really hope they don't mind me putting here:

" Breathe, breathe, safety first,

Acknowledge what you hear,

Don't defend, delay instead,

Distract, defuse or DEAR. "

I'd love to know what PUVA is.

We don't really have articles here...but do a quick web search for DEARMAN BPD

and you will find some good ones that explain it well. PUVAS, too. There is a

website for family members of BPD that may come up in your search, and they have

a lot of good articles.

The book Lavender recommended is also a great resource. Definitely check that

one out.
