Guest guest
Hi all, I'm doing better on my diabetic management my numbers are now ranging between 87 and 171 on a daily basis. I've gotten some good tips and feedback from this group and I'm still farily new to the group. You guys are great! By the way, welcom to new members. I don't post very often, but I try to keep track of posts and I put my 2 cents in when there's something I feel my contribution might be useful and wanted. Anyway, I thought I'd pass on something that I've tried. I know it's costly for most of us to purchase our glucose meters and the testing supplies. I did a survey at a website that produce meters and the supplies that go with it. Just for doing the survey I received a free meter and sample test supplies (test strips aren't usuall included with Meters). And this company does not call you or use high pressure sales. However, from time to time via postal service or email they will ask your opinion on their product or advise you of any product recall. I have been using their meter for two years and just recently received a new one at no cost just for continuing to participate in their program. My other one's still good so I keep the new one as a back up. Also, my insurance covers the the testing supplies and I found it to be cheaper than the previous meter I had. Also, this meter is small and fits in the palm of my hand, requires very little blood, can be used anywhere besides just fingers, gives fairly accurate readings in about 5 seconds. The only drawbacks of this meter is that they only provide test strips in 50ct so if you need to test more than twice a day you have to make sure your doctor keeps that in mind when prescibing for test strips. Also, at first I had a time of it finding their test strips in stock at some pharmaceys, but that was when it may have just come out with their meter. Now, I my pharmacey keeps them in stock or if they run out they will special order them as long as I give them 2 days notice befrore I run out. So if you are considering this meter check your local pharmaceys for availability of testing supplies. I'm going to got to the website and see what they can do to improve this area and if others have mentioned it. To check this out for yourself you can visit www.BDdiabetes.com they produce the BD Logic Blood Glucose Monitor. And they also have a BD InterActiv Diabetes Softwhere that allows you to download and analyze data from your BD meter on your pc. Hope you alll have a great day. J. __________________________________________________
