Saved by my sister getting hoodwinked by nada

I was so close to calling the folks and suggesting a lunch date after months of

almost complete NC. Then my sister let it spill that nada & fada have been

leading her on a merry chase for months re: their rental house. The renter

didn't pay, had to be evicted and wrecked the house. Sis was their listening

board and drafted to help clean up so they could list it for sale--nada

expressly told Sis to not tell me any of this. (I cannot tell you how often in

the past *I* was the confidant in their schemes. They always got me to agree to

not tell my sister-- " she can't be trusted, " " not her business, " etc.)

My sister only (finally) repeated all this news to me because nada rented out

the house, again, instead of listing the house--& Sis is feeling used and abused

after spending a weekend helping them undo the damage of the last renter!

Years ago, Sis and I agreed that when nada started the " don't tell so & so "

thing, we would tell her " Then don't tell me, because secrets are toxic and I

refuse to play this game. " But my Sis has little experience being the enmeshed,

golden confidant--and therefore forgot to keep her boundaries.

So I was saved from reestablishing contact with nada because my Sis slipped up

and got the full 'nada surprise' treatment!
