Guest guest
When I was first diagnosed with diabetes, I also experienced higher numbers in the morning, even with careful eating. They would gradually get better during the day, but when I started the day out high, it was hard to get the numbers lower all day. I am on Glipozide, and the dr suggested that I take the med at night instead of in the morning, to " turn the cycle upside down. " It worked! I wake up with numbers from 75- 85 most mornings, and go to bed with 110-120 most nights. In between, I monitor what I eat (mostly just smaller portions), and eat frequent snacks. I'm discovering what I can / cannot eat and adjusting accordingly. It must be working... I've lost 51 lbs. since November (6 months) and am doing much better all around. Maybe a change in WHEN you take the meds will help? Billie Randall wrote: Ok I eat a late dinner usually arround 7. Take my insulin and go to bed round 8. When I wake in the morning, regardless of what I ate the night before, my sugar is at least 290 and usually above 300. It drops during the day but why would it be that high like that when I haven't eaten.
