She looked at me and said " oh yea " I guess you can get preoccupied with waiting for the next breath you don't think about the obvious. He still does it ... she says now she just says a prayer that in the morning he will still be breathing! It has worked so far ... he is 73 and still going strong! Guest guest
Sorry to monopolize the group today, but I also am wondering if anyone with pelvic issues, has had difficulty with sleep. It seems since the onset of this fiasco for me, I have had tremendous difficulty sleeping, at first it was sue to the pain, but now, even if Im not in pain, I can't sleep. I suppose it is due to the stress of wondering what it is that I have and what will remedy it. Does anyone have any suggestions on good meds for sleep. It seems the only thing that works for me is lorazepam but I need to increase to get the same effect which I don't want to start doing. I tried all the sleep aids- lunesta, ambien, etc but they only put me to sleep and I am up in a couple of hours again. Just wondered if anyone else was experiencing this. Guest guest
Hint for good sleep: Do not consume caffeine! Our society drinks coffee to wake up then takes sleeping pills to get to sleep! Makes sense huh? ha ha There was an excellent show about nutrition on CNN the other night. Basically the American diet sucks and is making us obese and ill.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
Guest guest
Hi there, I struggled with severe insomnia for months. What set it off for me was actually a baby with infant reflux, but I'm sure the pelvic issues didn't help. I used ambien, which will certainly knock you out but it got to the point to where I was terrified of not using it- afraid that I'd lay awake in bed the entire night again and every time I tried to not take it, that would happen. Eventually I figured out that I wasn't dealing with regular insomnia, but that it was depression. I didn't necessarily feel depressed (despite the extreme stress of my life) but obviously my body thought otherwise. I switched from using ambien to an anti-depressant remeron and it worked wonders. It will knock you out the first few weeks that you use it (but wears off by the morning) but once it really kicks in you just feel " normal " and you get sleepy when you should get sleepy (oh, take it at night). It can be a vicious cycle-you are depressed so you can't sleep-you can't sleep so the fatigue makes you depressed. Remeron defintely helped break that cycle for me. Good luck! > > Sorry to monopolize the group today, but I also am wondering if anyone with > pelvic issues, has had difficulty with sleep. Guest guest
I used to get to be able to sleep by eating a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk before going to bed. Then I had to stop doing that because milk didn't really agree with especially before bedtime. Recently, (for the past week or so) I have been eating the peanut butter sandwich and 2/3 cup of yogurt (plain unflavored) and have been sleeping like a baby. In fact I have been sleeping too much and have noticed that about an hour or so after eating the sandwich and yogurt that I get very sleepy and have to go to bed. I use natural peanut butter because it contains nothing except peanuts. Most peanut butters out there have all sorts of additives and in fact they even use a different oil, like canola oil.
