Guest guest
Sheila: Keep up the good work - with systemic yeast it can take a year or more to get it back in line - depending on how bad it is. My twin has it real bad and she's learned that if you alternate treatments every three months or so you get all the different strains and there is no loss of effectivness. Grapeseed Extract is a good one according to her. She also used raw Garlic (sounds weird but it works) and some other natual remedies - can't remember them all. She would actually get herxheimer reactions (die off reaction) her levels were so high. Unfortunately she hasn't kicked hers because she had to start a long term ABX program for her Lyme. It was good that she gave it a good kick in the butt for a year prior to the ABX, though. Another thing to consider is to get tested for Mercury. If you have high levels of Mercury you will need to treat that or the sytemic yeast will remain a problem. Yikes, so many problems! > > Hi, > I agree with the systemic yeast thing. Guest guest
Hi Kalli, Boric acid for 14 days is a great start but my understanding is that it needs to be used on an ongoing basis (regmes vary) for several months. I've seen regimes range from 1x per week or 4 days per month for six months. Lindsey Looking for a deal? Find great prices on flights and hotels with Yahoo! FareChase. Guest guest
Kalli,Go backto whoever diagnosed you with non abilicans candida and ask them to run a culture AND a sensitivities test on the yeast that they find. The labs now have the ability to grow the yeast you have and then, in a petri dish, medicate that yeast with various meds until they find the one which "kills" the strain of yeast you have. You need this test if nothing else has worked for you.You could also google your strain and see what is being used to treat it, as in '"medications for treatijng glabrata", or whatever. If you have already done that and you have been treated with the meds the sensitivity test indicated you should use and you are still experiencing pain, you could well be free of the yeast, but have damaged skin from the prolonged treatments you mention below. All of those chemicals are enough to have damaged the vaginal canal as well as the sensitive skin of the vulva. You should probably then be using something like 100% pure cocanut oil , rubbed in thoroughly, but gently - several times a day - or 100% olive oil . It may very well be - given the list of things you've put on this skin, that your skin serioulsy needs a break.good luckkeep us postedkallina -kassandra wrote: Hey ladies- I posted about candida non-albicans some time ago. I have tested my blood sugar and everything else, No reason for candida not to go away. I am desperate, Can anybody recommend a dr. who deals with very resistant infections and does the tests at his/her office and not at labs? Guest guest
I haven't read all the email strains for this topic so excuse me if I'm repeating anything. Anyway, last year I tried being on fluconazole (diflucan) for a month. The end result was my body growing resistant to candida albalcin (however its spelled!). My body then began to create a newer and more resistant form of yeast called candida Glabratta. My particular strain of glabrata was only cured by a med called VFEND. A very EXPENSIVE med. I'm by no means cured of my original vulvodynia symptoms, but I do believe I developed glabrata in response to my overusing antibiotics and antifungals like diflucan. > > There was something on Amazon.com or maybe drugstore.com that looked > interesting. Guest guest
Yikes, this makes total sense and is very scary to me as I am on long term ABX for Lyme and also use Diflucan. I think with all the things I have on order I may be able to stop the Diflucan, though. Thanks for posting this.
