I haven't found any mention of re-introducing salicylates back

into the diet. If the diet works, then chances are very good that

salicylates are your problem, and you will probably want to continue the

diet for several months; for all I know, maybe even indefinitely. I would

move very slowly and carefully in re-introducing any of the restricted

foods, as the last thing you will need is another salicylate overload. I

checked the salicylate diet section in the book " Dietary Management of Food

Allergies and Intolerances " and came up with the following (note that some

brands are mentioned that we in the US may not be familiar with, since this

book is from Canada):

In following the salicylate restricted diet, the following foods are

ALLOWABLE. Anything not on the list should be avoided:

I am so confused! Your diet had a lot of things on it that I wrote down as

no-nos. I can't believe any kind of tomato is on it, and olive oil, as well

as chili peppers and tea? I give up - it's kind of like the proverbial

" everything is bad for you " - just live a little and enjoy! Actually the diet

I have been following is probably a little more conservative, so I guess one

just has to use some common sense. Kathy in NC
