I had my T. levels checked 2.5 yrs. ago...probably should test them again. What is HGH...not ringing a bell at the moment? Also, does the Ferritin test have an abbreviation? So many of them do...and I've had to look things up online to SEE what in the world my lab results meant! >>>>>I thought I had anxiety attacks and I recently learned that that panicky feeling, rapid heart beat and heavy breathing were all due to heart arrythmias!!!!! Have 3 kinds. Turns out that they are within "normal" range ,

the funny beats and that many of us have the non-threatening kind. Dusty, when the E. levels fall, that can induce heart palpitations. Lower E. results in a drop of Serotonin, which sparks a rise in Adrenaline, which leads to heart palpitations, anxiety, flutters, etc. Before this last dose of E. the anxiety was getting pretty bad. I had palpitations and flutters really badly. Since the higher dose, the anxiety is better (not nearly as bad as before) but still have some levels. The flutters are almost completely gone! I don't drink ANY caffeine and haven't since '94...so that is definitely not a cause! As far as allergic reactions, I take antihistamines daily! As far as the estrogen goes... the hair loss occur ed before I used it! Unfortunately that list of E. side effects that you sent in is probably including the "synthetic" kinds of E. (aka Premarin) too

which doesn't give a "true" picture of side effects. I personally like the E. It has been a big help to me so far. My mental clarity & concentration is so much better...my breasts feel like they've come back from the dead (hallelujah)...my sex drive is FAR better (hubby says he'll fight for me to stay on the estrogen, *grin*, me too). My bladder feels so much better on it...and that is a big plus because I have IC. I could go on, but I'll spare you...*grin* I'm waiting for a referral to that Endocrinologist, I sure hope I get it soon, if not, I'm going back to my pcp and let her try to help until then (with the hair loss issue and no period) there is always the chance that I could be developing PCOS. I might be wrong, but you seem pretty leery of Estrogen? Are you not using it anymore? I love it! ~Chelle

Ferritin I believe is tested as Ferritin/Serum Ferritin- at least my lab work didn't have any other name on it. Your doc could test your iron levels and they could be fine, but the Ferritin could be low ... when mine was low I lost hair by the handfuls and I couldn't maintain my fingernails. seehttp://www.diagnose-me.com/treat/T296815.htmlHGH info: http://www.cushings-help.com/hgh.htm andhttp://www.cushings-help.com/hypopituitary.htmChelle, I am well aware of the benefits of estrogen. I have been using it, for years now. SO, though there are risks - as with any drug or hormone we add to our bodies, I opt to use it because of quality of life issues. It turned my DV around and started the healing process of that area for me, and I too would be hard pressed to give it up. Having said that, I will also say here that our tendency to pooh pooh reports of any of the

negative side effects of hormonal therapy because of how we have benefitted can be a slippery slope. I'm not as ready to dismiss anything I read about the effects of estrogen as misinformation. It is far more likley that the information is written as it is because both synthetic and the so called "natural" form both cause problems. The reports we read DO NOT say there is NO increase in various health problems on natural Estradiol- they simply say there is lower risk with estrogens ALONE (and the reporting actually includes Premarin) then with a combination therapy.. Unfortunately, even the top supporters of estradiol as being the completely safe way to go freely admit that they don't have studies of natural estrogens only to back up their claims. I'm just worried that all of our praising of estradiol could lead someone to believe there is absolutely no risk - when there is risk indeed,

despite quoting Vliet and others. While we may find one day that there is LESS risk with natural estrogen (though I don't see why we would assume that without a study of the same magnitude as the WHI), the WHI study did conclude that horse urine alone without a progestin was worth the risk in a woman who needed supplementation. As a former 3 year user of Prempro, I can report that on Prempro I DID NOT LOSE hair, but on Vivelle.dot, I do. On Prempro I did not spot, nor did I have unrelenting breast pain and leaking breasts. ON Estradiol I do. Estrace makes me bleed and gives me sore breasts (isn't supposed to), Vagifem makes me bleed , and Vivelle.dot patches provide me with enough estrogen that I no longer have vulvo/vaginal atrophy and I am no longer suffering from the horrible daily DV pain. Literature available to use would have us believe that estrogen patches CANNOT do away with atrophy,

and estrace cannot make your breasts sore and so on. Yet it happens to many of us. Sooooo (oh, I AM rambling) I would say that the stuff you read only applies to some of us some of the time, and the reality is that some of us are sensitive enough that whether estradiol or conjugated estrogen, we can and do suffer the ill effects we are warned about on estrogen supplementation patient inserts. Hence the warnings on those inserts.Whew!!! I'm off my soap box nowDusty Chelle wrote: Anonymous wrote: >>>>>>>>Have you had your FERRITIN, testosterone, DHEA and HGH
