Dusty, when you say test your Iron levels, do you mean like Hemoglobin and Hematocrit? I have had those tested and they are in a really good range. The only time I"ve had to go on Iron was during both my pregnancies. I understand what you mean about the possible side effects with the Estrogen. I just think it's one of those things we have to weigh out for ourselves. I know there can be side effects from anything we use, but after the studying I've done I am happy with my decision to use Estrogen. I've had

to fight to use it...so, in my opinion, I don't think many women will be on it without close supervision...so that is actually a plus! I've read a lot of info on our group about meds like Neurontin, Lyrica, Elavil...and I could on, but I've never used any of them yet... I think sometimes we fear that people won't make the best choices for themselves or that they are not properly informed...The way I look at it is that if I want to try a med...I have to educate myself, regardless of what others have tried or say about it. Honestly, I've just been confused about whether you like Estrogen or not because so many posts you send are stating the negatives and not the positives. I lean more towards the positives because it's worked well for me. But I certainly agree that each person has to make that choice from their own research...am I making any sense? *grin* Okay, moving on..

RESPONSE;

YES - ORDINARY CHECKS FOR IRON WON'T FIND A FERRITIN PROBLEM AS THE

SITE I SENT YOU INDICATED. THIS IS ALSO A GOOD SITE;

RESPONSE;

GIVEN WHAT WE READ EVERY DAY ON OUR LIST ABOUT DOCS AND THEIR

INABILITY TO DO THINGS RIGHT - I FEAR THAT IT IS MOST LIKELY NOT TRUE

THAT WOMEN WILL BE ON IT WITHOUT CLOSE SUPERVISION. AS WE HAVE READ

HERE MANY TIMES, DOCS AREN'T ALWAYS DOING WHAT IS RIGHT.

RESPONSE; I AGREE WITH THIS ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. UNFORTNATELY WE

CAN GET CARRIED AWAY IN OUR LIST POSTS AND MAKE IT SOUND AS IF

ESTROGEN HAS NO NEGATIVE EFFECTS WHATSOEVER. HONESTLY CHELLE, I'VE

BEEN ON THE LIST NOW SINCE 2002 AND I HAVE READ A LOT OF POSTS WHERE

GALS DON'T REASEARCH AT ALL - THEY ARE ON THE LIST SO WE CAN TELL THEM

WHAT TO DO AND THEN THE FIND A DOC TO DO IT FOR THEM. YOU,

FORTUNATELY, READ AND PREPARED YOURSELF WHEN YOU WENT TO YOUR DOC.

NOT ALL OF THE SUBSCRIBERS HERE DO THAT.

*grin* Okay, moving on..

RESPONSE; MAKES PERFECT SENSE. I AM A GRATEFUL WOMAN FOR THE

POSITIVE CHANGES ESTRADIOL AND TESTOSTERONE HAVE MADE IN MY BODY. I

AM, HOWEVER, VERY VIGILANT - GET ALL MY TESTING DONE ON A REGULAR

BASIS AND AM ALWAYS READING WHAT I CAN TO INSURE MY SAFETY WHILE BEING

A USER. I JUST THINK WE ARE OBLIGATED TO THE NEWBIES ON THIS LIST

NOT TO SUGARCOAT THE POSSIBILITIES FOR ILLNESS ETC THAT HORMONES CAN

VISIT UPON US. MY EXPERIENCES HAVE TAUGHT ME TO BE WARY. MY MOTHER

HAD A HEART ATTACK WHICH WE WERE TOLD WAS A DIRECT RESULT OF HER HRT,

MY NEIGHBORS ON B O T H SIDES OF MY HOUSE HAVE ESTROGEN INDUCED

BREAST CANCER (ONE A DOUBLE MASTECTOMY, AND ONE - CURRENTLY UNDER

TREATMENT WITH A LUMPECTOMY). MY GIRLFRIEND IN TN. HAD A STROKE THREE

YEARS AGO - DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTABLE TO HER HRT. .... TWO OF THESE

WOMEN WERE ESTRADIOL TROCHE USERS ONE WAS A PREMPRO USER.... BUT AS

YOU SAY - WE SHALL MOVE ON.
