Millie, did you say you had the vestibulectomy 15 yrs. ago or developed v.pain back then? Did it take you a long time to recover from the surgery and what has been the outcome for you? I mean, did it help significantly with your pain? It's always good to know if that surgery has been successful or not. >>>>He might have wanted me to do the physical therapy, but I can't, I am too tired and what if it made me

worse? I think that is one of those things you have to decide for yourself. We are all suffering from different forms of v. pain, and because of that, we have to do what's best for us as individuals... if you are better now and don't want to "rock the boat" so to speak, I don't blame you! I am 58, how old are you? Are you menopausal? Well, Millie, I'm 35...and as for the menopausal thing, I don't know yet! I am already on an Estrogen patch because my E. levels have been low, too low for my age. I guess time will tell what's up....I sure hope so! ~Chelle

What happened to me was that I started with burning when I urinated. I went from doctor to doctor and they

kept giving me all sorts of stuff and then my skin got imflammed and everything got worse.

One doctor biopsyed me and after that I couldn't have sex and the area didn't heal.

I ended up having to have the surgery and by that time my gland was infected.

The surgery for me was horrible, I burst my sutures and I was all alone 15 years ago,

no one at all to talk to. It took me awhile to get over the surgery. I feel bad,

I am not the one to ask about the surgery because I did have it 15 years

ago and I think today they know more and are probably using better

surgical procedures. AFter the surgery the vulvodynia seemed to move to the

outside of the area and I had itching. I was put on elavil and it does

relieve everything. But please don't go by me as to weather to have

the surgery or not, I think my surgery was even more involved than some. Millie

Millie, thanks for sharing. I think it's good to hear from other women who've had a vestibulectomy. I think that helps the ones who are conisdiering weigh things out better. ~Chelle

And I will be adding to the reports - as

along with my pudendal nerve compression surgery on 8/22, I am also having a

vestibulectomy. I think it will be interesting to compare what the post

recovery is like compared to what Millie

had fifteen years ago.
