Guest guest
Hi, congratulations on the adoption. I hope your baby makes it home soon. I live in CA so can't give you any specific info. CT has a great reputation. I think visits are every two weeks. at first you may need an extra adjustment or two. You should have time to check out other orthos in your area. We have a starband and are really pleased with my daughter's progress. CT is only in southern CA and the travel would be too much for us. You'll also need to get a prescription in order to get the band. Your ped may be willing to write it or may want to send you to a specialist. I know there are doctors that specialize in adoption issues. that may help you line things up sooner. you may want to check this our before the baby is here to find out who you need to see to get a band. getting an appointment with a specialist can take a few weeks. Good luck. -christine mom to sydney/ 8 mo/ starband 5-31-06 > > Hi all! > We just visited our baby in Guat who just turned 6 mo and we hope to > have him home at 8-9 mos. Guest guest
I go to CHOA in Atlanta for my son who is on his ninth week in a StarBand. We have not had any problems and they have been willing to work me in when I think the helmet needs a fitting adjustment before our next appointment. The key is to get a good tech for the initial fitting appointment. I recommend Ed for this. You can ask for a specific tech when you make the appointment. They have several satellite offices that make it more convience on the maintenance side. It is every two weeks that they review progress and adjust the fitting. We go tomorrow for his first " rescan " to see the progress charted versus his initial scan. I think he is 150% improved! He got it at 5.5 months and I am thrilled with the progress. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have more specifically about CHOA, I'd be glad to try to answer them. I think the trip to Raleigh, unless you are very determined to not use CHOA would be very trying on such a frequent basis. , mother to Jace nine weeks into Starband > > Hi all! > We just visited our baby in Guat who just turned 6 mo and we hope to > have him home at 8-9 mos. Guest guest
I take my son to Cranial Tech in Charlotte, NC. I haven't researched much on the other types of helmets-starbands, hanger bands, etc. but we are pleased with CT. is going into his 5th week wearing his band and we can already see a difference. 7 months tort & plagio (Scaphocephaly) DOC Band > > Hi all! > We just visited our baby in Guat who just turned 6 mo and we hope to > have him home at 8-9 mos.
