Guest guest
hi there I'm hoping to find someone who may have had the same problem as I am currently experiencing. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant and ever since getting pregnant have been suffering. My doctor diagnosed and treated 2 bladder infections but I also have something else going on. Doctor and midwife have both admitted they can see inflamation and swelling in the vulvar area but have no idea what the cause is and have ruled out infections and everything seems to be in place so it doesnt seem to be related to relaxation during pregnancy. Next step in a gynaecologist. I am in pain almost daily but it comes on at different times of the days and can last for between 2 and 4 hours, sometimes even longer. Almost feels as if I am sitting on sliced lemons! No pain at night and it tends to go when I lie down. I thought I might try this support group to see if this sounds familiar to anyone. I didn't have these problems before getting pregnant. thanks!
Guest guest
is it painful to have sex? I had issues starting at 4 months pregnant...but my issues were pain with sex only. I hope that you can find some answers quickly and that it is something that is easily resolved. Kimmi Choose the right car based on your needs. Check out Yahoo! Autos new Car Finder tool. Guest guest
I know women can get painful varicosities in the vulvar area during pregnancy. Perhaps it could be that? Or it may be a form of yeast that is non-albicans and so much be treated differently? Where do you live? If it is vulvodynia, and I hope it isn't, you can ask the group for a practitioner in your area who has experience with vulvodynia and could maybe help you with medications that are compatible with pregnancy. Guest guest
Hi, I had something like that with all 3 of my pregnancies. My OB said I had varicose veins of the vulva. It was nothing serious ... I could not stand or sit for very long without being in alot of pain. The nervous mom that I was, I was sure the baby was going to fall right out (LOL) ... I had to have my labor induced for all 3 births. I looked at the bright side ... it was a great excuse to lie around and have my husband wait on me! in Michigan
Guest guest
hi thanks for letting me know about this. I had heard about varicose veins of the vulva and thought this could be the problem. My sister had varicose veins during her pregnancy but lucky her they were in her legs! How is this diagnosed? Also just out of curiousity, why did you need to have labor induced? And probably the question I am dreading most is did you have this all the way through the pregnancy? ps I will tell my husband, hes in for a busy time the next few months looking after me! Guest guest
hi julie Thanks for the tips. I don't think its any sort of infection as I have none of the usual signs for that and doctor has ruled that out. I realy think it must be circulatory. As you say, lets hope its varicosities and not vulvodynia. pilla in holland > > I know women can get painful varicosities in the vulvar area during pregnancy. Perhaps it could be that?
