Guest guest
Does anyone experience any major lower-ab cramps, non-menstrual-related, in conjecture to other vulvodynia-related problems? I've experienced this off and on since last summer (what I consider the onset of my vestibulitis), but lately it's been pretty constant, esp. over the past 4 days, where I've gotten little relief despite heating pads and midol-time's the only thing that seems to cure this. I can't tell if this is related to my vestibulitis or not, but I can't think of what else it would be-it's not really on one side or the other, so I'm sure it's nothing to do with my appendix or ovaries, and urination doesn't seem to affect the pain one way or another, so i don't think it's a UTI...not that I'm looking to self-diagnose, just looking for some women with a similar experience for some peace-of-mind, because this is a whole new degree of discomfort (like we need one more, haha!). Guest guest
Yes, yes, yes. I've posted about this a few times, but I'm not sure what's going on. I thought at first that my cramps had just become very severe during my period, so my gyn just said, "Well, you are 30 now, and sometimes that happens." He put me on NuvaRing--big mistake--burning skyrocketed. Then I thought maybe it was gas. I know it seems strange, but I've heard that gas can be so painful, people actually go to the ER and when they do the scans, it's just a bunch of gas. Then I thought maybe it was just my bowel issues--constipation and stress...I just don't know anymore. I finally got an appointment made for the end of Sept. with a gyn who specializes in laparoscopies and non-invasive surgery. I am hoping to avoid that, as I had one in 2001 (no endometriosis found), but I have a feeling she may want to check again. The wierd thing is when I have a few days without the pain, I feel so normal I think it was no big deal and assume I was freaking out for nothing. But when I DO have the pain, I'm like, "I've got SOMEthing bad going on in there!" Cysts, cancer, endo, fibroids, I don't know, but something. It's miserable, huh? And mine is various times through my cycle, like a week at a time, not just at ovulation. Some of the pains are very sharp and radiate to my upper thighs and lower back. Becky Be a better Heartthrob. Guest guest
Becky, Oh, my god, that is exactly how it is for me! I know mine's nothing to do with ovulation, since I've been on birth control for..4, 5 years now, i think? And it'll last for about a week, and when it's not cramping, i feel like i'm crazy, or making things up, or something, but i worked out the other day for just half an hour and the pain and discomfort was so bad i had a hard time walking (and yes, it was clear into my back and hips and thighs). I'm sorry I didn't see your posts about this before!! That'll teach me not to search first A part of me thinks that it might be fibroids, because I haven't had my period in a while (done on purpose, not pregnant), but who knows? please, please, please, let me know if/when you get some more answers/narrow down the field!! I'm going to ask my specialist about it, but i'm meeting her for the first time september 14th, so it's a while away i cannot wait to get there, everything's gotten so much worse since the appointment was first scheduled in May...ugh!! Stupid vvs! Beth > > Yes, yes, yes. I've posted about this a few times, but I'm not sure what's going on. Guest guest
Becky, It's been 6 years since your first laparoscopy and I think it's a good idea if the doctor does do another one because a lot has changed since that time and if you do have endo as I think you might it will be more than visible. Also, you mentioned having constipation. When endometriosis grows on the bowel it can cause constipation. Because of this some doctors think it's Irritable Bowel Syndrome when it's not. Also, endometriosis can grow on the actual pelvic floor and the pelvic floor muscles. Also, on the time to diagnose endo it can take 9-11 years to get an accurate diagnosis and one reason why is because of the inexperience of doctors. I know several women it's happened to that they had a first lap that said it wasn't endo but as soon as they had the second laparoscopy done by a doctor that was experienced with all aspects of endo the diagnosis was found. One of the colors that endo can come in is clear. When this color occurs to a doctor that has not seen it in this color it will look like drops of water and nothing more. Guest guest
Maybe your cramping has something to do with the pill. My VV started after I went on birth control pills after not being on them for 11 years. If I could do it over. I would have NOT gone on them!Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.
