Guest guest
Becky, I've not had it happen yet but a pimple can grow in the Bartholin's gland. Try sitz baths to see if that helps some of the swelling you noticed. Kristy ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better Globetrotter. Guest guest
Hi Becky - sounds like a cyst. I had cysts once on my pubic area when I had a bacterial infection. Usually they take a few days to a few weeks to 'pop', and then they go away. See how you feel in a few days, it should start to go away. nicole > >Reply-To: VulvarDisorders >To: vulvodynia group <vulvodynia >, vulvardisorders group ><vulvardisorders > >Subject: really disgusting--sorry >Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2007 21:53:03 -0700 (PDT) > >I know no one really wants to hear about this, but you all are the only >ones with whom I feel like I can actually divulge the gory details. Guest guest
Yep and mine was a boil - simultaneously also had one on knee, behind my ear and right along my butt where the elastic panty leg caught it. I was miserable for about 2 weeks or so. Becky Thorn wrote: I know no one really wants to hear about this, but you all are the only ones with whom I feel like I can actually divulge the gory details. Right now the area is still swollen and irritated, but hopefully it will go away soon. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Guest guest
Hi Becky, I get those about once a year. I think they are an infected sebaceous cysts. I may get them more often and only happen to notice them sometimes. I seem to remember getting them more often when I was a teenager, most likely playing sports and horseback riding contributed to more friction and more skin irritations. They hurt like hell to pop, but, like a bad zit on the face, stop hurting soon after getting the ooze out. Guest guest
Becky, I have had 3 of these in the last 5 years and I believe mine were boils as my derm Doc told me so when I described it to her. I also squeezed mine till it popped and then held warm compresses on it for @ 10 minutes every time I had a chance. Just be careful it doesn't get infected as that can mean antibiotics and then you know--yeast infection. But I think if you use the warm compresses it should be fine. Also, I put cortisone cream on it that you can get OTC. I don't think cysts have fluid. To my knowledge they are a solid mass that need to be removed surgically. Google each to make sure. Guest guest
Becky, it's me AGAIN. I was wrong, cysts do have fluid in them, however, they cannot be popped by oneself. A GYN or Surgeon might need to drain it for 2-4 weeks. And they are very painful, but then so are boils. And stress can produce one as well as continuous rubbing, such as bike riding.
