Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am considering having a vestibulectomy (right term?) done by Dr. Nyirjesy in Philadelphia. I have had chronic vulvar vestibulitis for 6 years, and none of the treatments (creams, PT, Elavil, etc.) have worked. I'm a good candidate because I only have pain upon intercourse-- otherwise I feel fine. Previously, I never considered the surgery because I am absolutely terrified of anything medical-- having to get a blood test causes severe anxiety for me. But I am getting to the point where I feel like the surgery might be worth it-- Dr. Nyirjesy tells me the success rate is very high (70% cured, 20% significantly better, 10% same), so I think I'm going to do it, despite my fears. I want to be able to have sex with my husband!!! I would appreciate any feedback on surgery results, as well as feedback on Dr. Nyirjesy. I trust him and I have heard elsewhere that he is a great surgeon, but I would love to hear from anyone who has dealt with him. I would also like to hear what the surgery process is like, and what people felt like afterwards-- how long were you in pain, taking narcotics, out of work? Thanks so much!
