, do you have a copy of Vliet's book? Also, she has written one on PCOS. Even though the Testosterone level looks fine, how is her FREE level of T? The FREE level should not be more than 1-2% of the Total...if it is, then it will give Androgenic effects. My total T. levels were around 29...2.5 yrs. ago. But the FREE level was a little over 3%, so that explains some of my Androgenic effects. Also, I just had my T. levels tested again...this time, it was 73 ng/dl....which is 13 above what Vliet mentioned. Doesn't sound too bad...but when I compare it against some of the side effects I'm having....especially like hair loss...I highly suspect mild PCOS. PCOS really goes by a clinical diagnosis. You have to factor in all the symptoms. I would read more info on it and possibly take her to a doc that KNOWS about PCOS. You could always call around before making an appt.(ask

friends, etc.) It would be wise to MAKE her track her cycles! Every woman should learn how to do this. With our fluctuating hormones...it's very important information for YEARS to come.... *grin* Hugs, Chelle

Yes, Chelle I do have Dr. Vliet's book Screaming to Be Heard. I do suspect PCOS. It is just finding a doc that is really knowledgeable in it. They all say she is FINE, but her acne is awful and when she started to complain to me about chin hairs, I knew something was wrong.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.

Not sure if I mentioned this, but Vliet also has a book specifically on PCOS. Maybe you could try to find a PCOS Yahoo group for her, too. Just some ideas...I hope you all find a good doc... Hugs,

Chelle
