Guest guest
I had long labors too and I wonder if it is because when a woman in labor gets to the hospital they don't give her anything to eat until after delivery. When I got to the hospital every time after a few hours my contractions would stop, start up again and then stop. With my last one they sent me home and told me to eat something (they weren't allowed to give anything by mouth at the hospital). I went home and drank a cup of beef broth. I should have had bacon and eggs with hash browns. They started again with a vengeance. My husband called the hospital because my contractions were almost continuous. I wanted to go back and he actually yelled at them because they doubted I was ready. They agreed and even after I got there the contractions stopped. They did the epidural and he was born 18 hours later. Ora >Becky Thorn wrote: . It was the most horrible, awful, drawn-out experience of having my newborns (and I had 24 hr. labor and 2 c-sections, no food for 60 hours, ........ > Becky >
