Guest guest
Melinda, I was thinking of you and praying for you on Monday, sorry I'm slow replying... I personally would not agree to any 'cook-book' type approach. I would ask them to test your hormone levels at specific times in your cycle, I know that it's hard where you said your cycles are irregular, but do you see any kind of a pattern to them? Tell them you want to see 'proof' of needing the P. before adding it. I would have never asked for Estrogen if my lab results did not back up my needing it. I do think the thyroid panel is a good place to start. It might be that your thyroid is out of whack at the moment and that could be causing the irregular cycles. Vliet doesn't have a problem with using P. it's just using it unnecessarily (like when you don't show true clinical evidence of needing it). I would study, research and pray about which tests to have. I have had a ton of unnecessary tests this year...thankfully they have been covered by Insurance...but this stuff gets expensive and it's not easy handing over money for any and all kinds of tests that are not covered. If you are complaining of no sex drive and your T. levels are low, I'm not sure 'why' they think your levels are fine! We gals don't need a lot of T. but we certainly do need it for sex drive! Thyroid issues can cause lack of sex drive too. I am going to start having my amalgam fillings replaced, too, but I'm gonna do it a little at a time. Mine are older now and need replacing. Just take it a step at a time. If not, you'll get totally overwhelmed. Start with the areas that you think need the most attention and then go from there. I personally think a thyroid panel is a good place to start. If your thyroid is underactive...you might not need any additional hormone supplementation! See what you can have tested that 'is' covered first and then go from there! And then I will decide if we can do the additional food testing. She can also do the heavy metal testing that I want done, whenever we have the money for it. I am looking to also have my mercury fillings replaced ASAP. Anyway, that was the visit - it was fine, it just gave me a lot to think about because I don't know what information to trust.Melinda**IF REPLYING TO THIS POST, PLEASE REMOVE ORIGINAL POST, Thanks for your cooperation! *****
