neurontin success?

Ok I’ve been on neurontin for a couple of weeks now. I

feel great in terms of side effects, but no pain relief.. has anyone had

success with neurontin? As in been able to have sex? I’d like a little

reassurance that this has worked for some people?

Jenni, First, how many mgs are you on? I was up to 3200mgs and

even more at one point. ALong w/ neurontin, I was taking 150mgs

of elavil and 75 mgs of effexor. All these meds took @

6 months till I saw a lessening of burning. I suffer from

DV which was 24/7 burning. I also used ice. As time went on

I lowered the elavil to 75 and then 50. And the neurontin to

400mgs/ day. Weened off the effexor too.

Last Feb. I decided to quit the neurontin and within a week the

burning came back and I was back to square one, mega dosing all the

above dosages. It wasn't until July that I felt 95% less burning.

I am now taking 800 mgs of neurontin (NOT QUITING THIS TIME)

50 elavil and again have weened off the effexor.

So, with me it took a combination of all these meds to improve the

burning.

You need to give it time. ANywhere from 6-9 months and maybe even

longer.

Don't give up and perhaps you need a combination of meds like I did.

I a GP doc, pain management doc and gyno doc. Oh yes, I also

apply estrace creme 2x a week to keep the vaginal tissues pink and

strong.
