Guest guest
I had that problem and I had to go on the candida diet to get rid of it.I read the book "The Yeast Connection Handbook" by Crook and it helped me to understand yeast infections better. If you can not get rid of an infection, it could very well be systemic (in your digestive track) You then need to get rid of it there for your vaginal infection to get better. I also had to take Nystatin oral powder antifungal mixed with water 2 times a day. I did not get any relief until after 4 months of this routine and being on the diet.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Oh, I hate the thought of having to go on that diet! I know I should give it a try though. Are you still on the diet? I was reading something about yeast die off and wondering if that's what all the discharge could be from, and not from an actual infection. Thanks
Guest guest
Yeah, I had a TON of discharge when I did a yeast detox this summer (and I wasn't even 100% strict with it!) So that's definitely a possibility. I am now gluten and mostly dairy free, very little sugar as well. I am doing some food testing in the next few months and may be changing other things. Guest guest
--- Melinda, Do you feel that the diet helped with your v symptoms at all?
Guest guest
Kathy, I think the diet helped, and if I stuck with it more strictly, it would help even more. You really have to be pretty careful to see the benefits of it. I had less inflammatory discharge (after the initial die-off, which caused alot of things like gas and bloating and excess discharge) and my clitoral pain died down. It's flaring up again now and I'm trying to decide if it's poor diet since I've backslidden a bit or if it's cyclical. Either way, the diet, although very difficult, is a great way to eat for a healthy body. Melinda
Guest guest
Melinda, Maybe one oF these days I'll make the committment to the diet, but right now I'm too busy with my daughter. I did just order some grapefruit seed extract since it's supposed to help with yeast. Between that and the Fem-Dophilus I'll see how I'm doing. I start PT in a couple weeks also.
