So you agree with my post to Melinda? blueeberri@... wrote: You have to believe YOURSELF! My docs said I was on the "low" side...but in the normal range. According to Dr.Vliet and my own body, I was too low for ME!My testosterone level was a 22. I did not need antidepressents, I needed testosterone. My estrogen was imbalance with my testosterone. My periods were SO Heavy I couldn't leave the house on the first day! After I started the DHEA pills and testosterone cream, my periods STOPPED being so heavy. We need to take our health into our own hands, we know how we feel. The doctor is not in our body. If you

feel tired, no libido, etc or other symptoms, I would listen to yourself and ask the doctor for what you think you need. See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. __________________________________________________

I have tried asking the dr. for the testosterone - I don't know how to

find a dr. who will help me. No one seems interested in the hormones, I

have talked to several who just say if I have hormone problems I should

go on the pill to regulate everything. Not sure how to find a dr. to

listen to me and give me hormones that I need.

Melinda,Check out Women's International Pharmacy online and write them and ask them for a list of physicians that buy from them. Those physician are more likely to believe in women's hormones issues and prescribe bioidenticals instead of birth control pills.

By the way, what were you hormone levels? E and T?See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.

Wow Melinda, your levels sound similar to mine. My T was 22, no sex drive, no energy, started to get belly fat, weight gain, the only good thing was I did not need to shave my legs everyday! Do you have a family doc that you can cry too? I just told my family doc. PLEASE, I want to try bioidentical testosterone, I told her about my vulvar burning itching, problem and she felt bad and gave it to me. I brought in s Vliets book, The Yeast Connection Handbook too! That is how I got the Nystatin Prescription. Put it to your doc, what you are doing is not helping and that you want to give this a try!

Were you or are you on birth control? My problems started after I went on the pill after not being on it for 11 years. I remember after I went off it the first time it took me over a year to get pregnant with my daughter. I was dumb to go back on it again! I trusted my doctor. I should have read up on it on my own. I also take a DHEA supplement, a prescription is not needed for that. You can get it at the health food store or online. That is supposed to increase testosterone too.

PS> I have still not made that appointment with that doc that participated in the study that concluded that most women that had VV had low androgens (testosterone, Dhea..etc) I need to get going on that and I will post any findings that come of it.

I was just using the estrogen testosterone cream and I do not like it as much as the T cream alone. I do not seem to get the results I want from it.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.

I have the Women's International Pharmacy list - they have one dr. near

me, hubby is interviewing for new jobs and we may be switching

insurance so I'm waiting for things to settle down. I am dreading

losing our current insurance, it's one of the only good things about

hubby's current job. =)

My testosterone total was 24. I thought it was supposed to be more like

40-60. I definitely have no sex drive and have noticed lately that I

seem to be losing a lot of hair, which is another low T thing, isn't it?

My Free plus weakly bound T was 2 and the Free Testosterone CA was 1.

Estradiol was 69. Also seems on the low side to me...I already use

topical estrace, but not internally.

All those tests were done on Day 3 of my cycle. I'm 26, by the way. =)

Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it!

Melinda
