Guest guest
Hi all! I wanted to tell you about a research study I just participated in since the researcher is looking for more participants. It was really easy, just a one-time phone interview - pretty personal questions but it's a total stranger so I didn't mind. =) She is a sociologist studying how vulvar vestibulitis affects women's relationships with their partners, families, and physicians. Email me off group if you want more info! Also, an unrelated question...the past two weeks I've been having some spotting, which has never happened to me. It's only since we've resumed intercourse (after almost a year off). Usually it's just a tiny bit, but one day I actually bled enough to wear a pad, just for that day. Any ideas? I thought maybe I had a polyp or something that was being irriated by the intercourse, but the spotting doesn't exactly coincide with intercourse. To me, it's just further evidence that my hormones have issues. =) I know if I go to the dr. she'll just tell me (again) to go on the pill. Guest guest
Hey Melinda, I would be interested in the research study, is it only for vestibulitis patients or vulvar pain in general? Just a suggestion here, but if that hormone clinic will work with you, then see if they will do some further hormone testing. They could write the order and then you could go get tested on the days you 'know' are best for you. If the spotting is happening 'only' with intercourse then it definitely may be connected, but if it's at other times, too, then you're right, it's probably your hormones. Guest guest
SpanishMiss - any unscheduled bleeding or spotting should be referred to your doc. If she tells you its related to the pill - find another doc. There could be serious issues involved when unscheduled spotting is occurring. You could also be suffering from vaginal dryness causing little tears . This would require some internal estradiol if that were the case, but I wouldn't use it until I had the doc rule out systemic diseases.DustyChelle wrote: Hey Melinda, I would be interested in the research study, is it only for vestibulitis patients or vulvar pain in general?
