Guest guest
GREAT, My daughter tonight said she wants to go on that PILL that makes you only have a few periods a year. She saw it on a TV commercial, she will be 18 in January, she does not have a boyfriend, I do not think she is sexually active, but who knows! She said she wants it because she only wants a few periods a year and that is what the commerical is marketed at..WOW ONLY HAVE a few periods a YEAR. I can not believe that can be good for a woman. Does anyone know anything about this pill. I would think it would be WORSE for a woman that a traditional birth control pill.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Which in my opinion are really bad. Does your daughter know about your struggles with vulvar pain? Maybe you could remind her that it might not be a bad idea to 'wait' awhile and 'see' how this pill does? They thought Depo Provera shots were so wonderful years ago for birth control and no periods...but look how that turned out...messed a lot of women up. Led to vulvar pain and messed up periods...I even think Dee had sent in past info on a class action lawsuit on DP. Hugs, Chelle
Guest guest
I really hope that your daughter will reconsider. If the pill/artificial hormones are bad, seasonale and other pills that give you only a few periods a year are twice as bad. Literally ALL my health problems started when I went on Seasonale (3 periods a year). Our body is meant to cleanse itself regularly, having a period is a normal and healthy thing, it helps our body cleanse! I cannot state strongly enough that these pills that give you less periods are just a bad idea. Melinda
Guest guest
When a big drug company makes a pill they want to sell it. It is really deplorable that they have no regard for the people who might take the pill. If they target women who don't like to have periods that is doubly deplorable. Our periods cause all sorts of problem to some of us but if we do not have those problems why invite them for silly convenience purposes. My sister-in-law naturally only had periods three or four times a year and she has had all sorts of health problems. Now she has diabetes and a weight problem along with a myriad of other problems. Selling unnatural products via TV is to my way of thinking, the lowest form of commercialism. That pill (Seasonale and others which do the same thing) is totally unnatural and should only be used for medical reasons by someone who needs it, not for convenience purposes. It changes the consistency of the mucusal secretions and can cause birth defects if one should become pregnant. Forgetting to take a pill for one day can make it necessary to double the dose the next day and if one forgets for three days and gets pregnant, the baby could be deformed. See http://www.medicalook.com/Birth_control/Contraception.html Read about Yasmin and Seasonale and be sure to click on the little " more " button at the end of each article. That will open your eyes to the risks of taking those pills. Ora >GREAT, >My daughter tonight said she wants to go on that PILL that makes you only >have a few periods a year.
