Guest guest
How would thyroid be connected to low DHEA or is adrenal stress the cause of a screwed up thyroid and low DHEA?See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Ummm, I'm not really good at this but I'll try. The thyroid is our master gland and sends out the signals for all the various functions of our bodies to other glands . The thyroid gland tells our hormones when and where to function and if the thyroid itself, the master gland, isn't functioning properly, then neither are our hormones (they won't be in balance). The adrenals are glands and if they don't get the right signals from the thyroid, they can hyperexcrete (overstimulate us) or become exhausted with no supplies left.Adrenals can also malfunction for primary reasons, such a tumors on the glands themselves.DHEA is a steroid (from which our adrenals draw 'strength' and are re invigorated) which sort of feeds all of our bodily hormones and metabolic processes.See this site for some info:http://www.womentowomen.com/adrenalfatigue/dhea.asp?id=1 & campaignno=adrenalfatigue & adgroup=ag3dhea & keywords=dhea+hormoneHope I explained this okay - and hope it helps.Dustyblueeberri@... wrote: How would thyroid be connected to low DHEA or is adrenal stress the cause of a screwed up thyroid and low DHEA?See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. __________________________________________________
