Did the doc suggest a phamaceutical grade Omega 3 to take? I'm taking Salmon oil (which I have read is good from a number of places, but I have to be sure there's no soy based oils in it because of thyroid issues) and GNC brand was suggested as a good choice. I've been using that for a year and my lipids continue to go upward!I have a very strong family history of high lipids - so I'm sorta in that position like the ad on TV says -" some cholesterols you get from your foods and some from Grandpa"!!! A double whammy. It is genetic it seems so if you have family members with the problem, you may simply have inherited this issue. DustyChelle wrote: Zig, AMEN!!! And do I ever hear you! I've had so many tests this year, my Insurance probably has me on some kind of black list or something... My TSH keeps bouncing between 2 to 3.4...on top of that my Free T4 is close to the lowest range and this last set of thyroid tests my T3 was actually flagged as low. My hair has been coming out a lot this past year. I thought when I finally got on a good dose of Estrogen that it would get better, but it hasn't. I'll have my next set of Thyroid tests in a few months and I'm gonna ask my doc to boost me with some T3 & T4. I know too many people who are only

on synthroid and they still have thyroid issues. As for the Cholesterol, she wants to watch my diet...and this past year I've been doing better than ever, but recently I've backslidden 'some'. I've been so stressed over all this health 'crap' that I like my comfort food....(chocolate). I've finally realized, though, that even when I slip back, NOT to give up. You just pick up and keep pressing forward. Has anybody mastered their diet yet????? ;) Oh, one other thing, my doc said she is having good success with using a pharmaceutical grade of Omega 3 fatty acids for cholesterol and tri-glycerides. I'll try to look up those adrenal tests you mentioned...I've had a prolactin test...and it was fine, but I've not had my cortisol tested. The Endocrinologist pretty much blew me off when I mentioned checking my adrenals. So many docs

act like if your picture is NOT in their textbook then you are okay...... *UGH* Hugs, ChelleZigmissus wrote: I didn't realize these symptoms could be related tothyroid, Dusty. My TSH is 1.3, which they say is inthe normal range. My T3 and T4 are average. Chelle, I've had so many tests it's almostembarrassing. It's bad when you get to the point ofhoping they'll find SOMETHING just to justify theexpense! Do you take anything for your cholesterol?(I'm on my second week of Lipitor, yuck.)My adrenal workup included a 24-hour urine collectionand bloodwork for for 17OHP (normal), cortisol (highnormal), prolactin (normal) and ACTH (high normal). Ialso had an MRI of the adrenals to rule out tumors.Oddly, my blood calcium is high,

despite havingosteopenia. If my ACTH were higher, they'd call it aparathyroid problem. I'm learning that it's possible to have abnormal testresults, but if they don't fit any recognized diseasepattern or reach an alarming level, doctors dismissyour symptoms. As Dusty said, it's subclinical. But,IMO, most doctors regard "subclinical" as "normal."Zig __________________________________________________
