Guest guest
Hello! I am writing to share my joy in having the best sex-filled weekend of my married life! Sure, I've only been married a couple of years, but sex has always been incredibly painful! I was diagnosed with VVS about a year ago... I tried pt (little success), and attended pain-management support groups. For me, VVS seemed to be primary..I always remember having it with tampon use. However, I do not doubt it was brought on by yeast infections, which I've never been diagnosed as having, or treated for. I began acupuncture about a month ago... It wasn't doing anything, and I was preparing to stop the visits... I went twice last week and was planning Wed. to be my last visit. On Thursday, I began to take one Acidophilus pill each day.. Well, on Saturday night, we had sex..not once, but twice...first time in our lives we had sex twice in a row.. I honestly had NO PAIN. This is my first time ever...We woke up Sunday morning, only to have sex again...Sunday night, ditto. Monday morning, once again, sex. WOW! Now I'm super-confused and trying not to get super-excited... My 'cure' could be due to several factors and I just don't know which one! 1) Acupuncture? 2) Acidophilus pills (perhaps I had a yeast infection that got healed through the pills, thus, no longer pain?) 3) More relaxation/foreplay than ever before?! Mind you, when my husband touched the vestibule directly, I do still have pain, it's not like I don't have VVS anymore..it's just with sex, it's so bearable..and yes, even enjoyable! I'm thrilled...I'm just wondering what is the cause? I WANT TO HELP OTHERS TOO! Any luck with Acidophilus? Anyone? Your input or ideas on my seeming recovery would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Guest guest
Congrats! I have been attempting sex again - it's been doable but not as good as yours! =) You are making me want to give acupuncture another shot. I take probiotics and they are great for my gut but haven't helped my vulvar stuff at all. Melinda
Guest guest
Hello, everybody,i'm new in this group although I have had VVS for about a year now.I'm Brazilian so pardon my English is not perfect! I just can find Brazilian sites or discussion groups about VVS.It's incredible how much information I could find here so far. Today I have an appointment with the gynecologist and will certainly take some of the new information. Thanks everybody!!I was very interested about your success with acupunture and I'd like to have more information. Is it some kind of specialized acupuncture? Like local acupuncture or is that regular one we are used to?I'll certainly give it a try, specially because acupuncture has been very useful to me. It cured in 2 months a problem I had in the ATM (mandibula), that no doctor could cure in 6 months!Well, I'd really appreciate if you could give me this information.I'm so happy I found this group.Hugs!!CarlaTo: VulvarDisorders From: e_hatzis@...Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2007 06:10:49 +0000Subject: Best weekend of my married life! That's so great! I bet your husband was thrilled, too! Not trying to be a downer AT ALL, but keep us updated if your pain returns in the next couple weeks. I'd be curious because I've had episodes of relief like that, only to have it return to the way it was a week later. But I've figured out that my pain is cyclical like that--I have times when it doesn't hurt AS bad and I can tolerate sex! It's wonderful to know that and anticipate those times--wonderful for our marriage relationship. Well, praying for you right now that this is it and the pain will only continue to subside! Guest guest
Yes, my husband was thrilled indeed! I am preparing myself to deal with the fact that this may not be like this for the rest of my life... But it just seems strange... If indeed my pain is cyclical like you say yours is, why have I never had it this good EVER? It's been a couple of years... I forgot to mention I've also been eating more yogourt these days?! Link?! Do you think the acidophilus is irrelevant? Can the acupuncture have just kicked in after many sessions? > > <<Mind you, when my husband touched the vestibule directly, I do still > have pain, it's not like I don't have VVS anymore..it' s just with > sex, it's so bearable..and yes, even enjoyable!>> > > WOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!! Guest guest
The past two days for me have been more symptomatic then ever. I went to Acupunture last night, first time, and i noticed a couple of hours later, I was feeling ok. I took a look at the skin in the area, and believe it or not, it was not red or inflammed. It looked almost, normal. This morning, the skin still looks normal. Who knows, maybe there is something to Acupunture, and perhaps my Chi (energy) is out of whack. I'll keep everyone posted. Guest guest
Many congrats!!! That is very exciting - and cause for celebration I definitely believe that acupuncture can kick in after a period of time. When I was doing acupuncture, my practitioner told me that the longer you have had chronic pain, the longer it takes to heal. Also, the acidophilus and yogurt play a big role also! I noticed I felt a lot better when I was taking yogurt daily. What type of relaxation/foreplay did you do? > > > > > > > Hello! > > I am writing to share my joy in having the best sex-filled weekend of > my married life! Guest guest
I went to acupuncture at one time. I was getting spiking pain out my clitoris and labia. I went for 4 months and even had the needles put inside. I got rid of the spiking completely but it took a couple of weeks after I stopped. Guest guest
Hey! Have you noticed improvements with daily yogurt and acidophilus? Are you 'cured'? Does the pain come and go? I'm anxious to see if my painless phase will end...I really don't want it to...but it almost seems too good to be true! The relaxation/foreplay involved doing stretching exercises taught to us by our pt back in the day...(right after my diagnosis) Usually, it would be too painful for two fingers, but maybe because we did stretching for much longer than usual, we managed to do two fingers. Also, I got more used to the moving in/out of fingers and when I saw how painless that was, it encouraged me to " take more of it " . Then I was SOOOO relaxed, it just went in almost completely pain-free and the sex was great! I'm still confused... :S But happy...?! I hope it lasts! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hello! > > > > I am writing to share my joy in having the best sex-filled weekend of > > my married life! Guest guest
Hi, How was your appointment today? I've been looking over these boards for a long time, hoping to find people with success stories...I'm glad to be able to provide one, at least a temporary one! My acupuncturist did not have any experience dealing with VVS..he did mention one other patient but that patient could not continue with him and had to leave. I was concerned that he wouldn't know what he was doing, but I stuck with him because I had heard such great things about him from others with other problems. I was also surprised that he did localized acupuncture..a friend of mine is going to another acupuncturist for the same problem and she hasn't had any needles near her vagina! Anyways...I can't say that it was painless... When the needles go in, especially in the sensitive areas (not the legs or arms), I felt a lot of pain and even had slight panic attacks with beads of sweat and the whole nine yards. But then when they're in, they don't hurt at all. Good luck with any treatment you choose! Keep us posted! > > > Hello, everybody, > i'm new in this group although I have had VVS for about a year now. > > I'm Brazilian so pardon my English is not perfect! Guest guest
Hello!!Thanks for your email. So, I went to the gyn yesterday, and we decided to change medicine. I was taking Neurontin (gabapentina), and doing biofeedback with no results. Now we are going to stop Neurontin and start using Atarax, I hope this helps me. I'll keep the biofeedback sessions though.I also talked about the Estrace cream and he agreed that I can give it a try, so I'm starting to use it today. He also prescribed me Calcium Citrate. I talked to him about acupuncture and he said it really cures many problems, but he thinks it won't be so useful for VVS. He says it usually cures pains that we have at the time of acupuncture (like headache, pain in the arms) not pain like VVS that, in my case, I only have during intercourse or when I press the sensible area.Particularly I don't completely agree, so I'll certainly look for a good acupuncturist.I imagine it won't be painless, but if I have to do it to stop my VVS it's perfectly ok!!And I really hope your cure is not only temporary!!Hugs and thanks again!!Carla Invite your mail contacts to join your friends list with Windows Live Spaces. Guest guest
Hi! I am not 'cured' yet - but I am much better. I have had the VVS for 6 years and a lot of stress the past 4 years, so I expect it it take a bit longer. I have improved by 60% over the last 6 months so I feel positive! I do think the pain cycles, and there may be certain times during the month when sex is painful and when it isn't. I use a dilator in the morning during my shower and notice that some days I can't get it in, and some days it just slides in. I haven't collected enough data on that to notice a trend yet, with my cycle and life events, etc. But the fact that you are able to have pain-free sex means that things are working!! Sheila > > > > > > > Hey! > > Have you noticed improvements with daily yogurt and acidophilus? Are > you 'cured'? Does the pain come and go? Guest guest
I went to five acupuncture visits... Mind you, I never felt any improvement following any of those visits, except the last... But like I mentioned, I have my doubts that it was the acupuncture (but then again, what do I know???). It could be acidophilus/daily yogurt...? I'm still in the dark. My husband even suspects my extreme sense of relaxation (not usually so much...) but I don't buy into that... > > Congratulations on your success I am so happy for you and your > husband.
