Guest guest
Chelle, is this really true? I don't think there is any studies which link which KIND of estrogen could cause a disorder such as ours. In fact, I always believed that the issue (certainly in some of the books I've read) was the AMOUNT of the estrogens used compared to the amount of the progesterones/progestins used. The overdosing of the progesterones/progestins seemed to be depleting the body of its ability to properly use the somewhat less available estrogens under this scenario.Speaking of progesterones, are you tolerating the Prometrium any better. My doc and I agreed that I will never take that again due to the Prostaglandin reaction I had and I'm back on Norenthindrone.Dustytaurusrc@... wrote: I certainly agree with you there but estrace alone is not used for birthcontrol, although it might help with her problem. Ora>Ora, the bc pills do indeed have 'estradiol' in them...but the kind in the pill contains ethinyl (or synthetic, not natural to the body) and Estrace contains bio-identical estradiol (which the body recognizes as 'normal'). So, there truly can be a big difference. The synthetic hormones in the pill can 'block' hormone receptors (estrogen and testosterone) whereas bio-identical hormones fit like a key in a lock! Coming off the pill for some women with vulvar pain 'can' make a difference if they do indeed have 'skin' issues. As well as using bio-identical hormones to feed those deprived Estrogen receptors....Hugs, Chelle>**IF REPLYING TO THIS POST, PLEASE REMOVE ORIGINAL POST, Thanks for your cooperation! *****
