Guest guest
Pretty funny I know. But I remember when I was guilty of doing the same crap. When my oldest was just a toddler, I would tell him to stay in the living room and play while I mopped the kitchen floor. Of course he would occasionally come on in to see me anyway. I came unglued, yelling, " I told you to stay in there. " I finally caught on to what a bi*** I was and stopped. But to this day, I want to cry when I think about it. Our nadas really ruin us. > > > > > > I remember hearing all the time: > > > > > > > > > > Don't walk on my clean floors! > > > > > Don't sit on my new couch! > > > > > and, my personal favorite: Don't use the bathroom! Guest guest
Thank you all for posting under this post, I was reminded of always hearing her house this and her house that. I never really felt connected to " her house " . Growing up, I felt like it was the place I lived in as she was my mother and that was her house but other than that I felt like an alien in the house. When she remarried, it was worse. Irony of the things you forget but stay with you in your unconscious. > > > > > > > > I'm wondering today--did anyone else's nada ever act extremely > > > possessive of 'her' house, especially when she had just cleaned something? > > > I remember hearing all the time: > > > > > > > > Don't walk on my clean floors! > > > > Don't sit on my new couch! > > > > and, my personal favorite: Don't use the bathroom! Guest guest
One last thing about nada's house: over the years my Dad worked very hard to remodel, build, paint the home. Whatever she demanded, he did his best to make it a reality for her. He built on an enclosed patio, knocked out part of a wall to make a lovely opening between the family room and living room, built a shed and other various things outside for her, even built a deck in front that she never uses. Now that he's gone, she keeps telling me about how hard she worked on that house. She claims she troweled the concrete for the pathways, hauled tar paper onto the shed roof, etc. This is the same woman that complains about constant " excruciating pain. " It bothers me that he did the work and she takes the credit. > > Thank you all for posting under this post, I was reminded of always hearing her house this and her house that.
