Hello!I did a lot of out-of-the box things this past 3-6 months. I've had vestibulitis and vulvodynia for about 6 years.1) I stopped working at my desk job and took up yoga and freelance. This reduced the amount of time I was sitting in front of my computer.

2) I do yoga 4x/week and yoga therapy 2x/week. I also use the foam rollers about 3x/week, but that is more recent.3) I did acupuncture for a while which was good to calm my mind, but didn't help the pain. Then I started doing craniosacral therapy and it rocked my world. It really helped my pain. I can't even really explain why, but it did!

4) I use ayurvedic herbs to reduce the swelling of my labia. I also take daily probiotics. I've been doing this since January.5) I changed my morning routine to use a dilator in the shower (Over the past 3 months I've gone up in 3 sizes), do a sitz bath right after the shower, and then apply sesame oil to my body and vulvar area. I also use a q-tip with oil every day in the clitoral hood (that is one problem area) and vestibule. The clitoral hood pain has gotten a lot better with this, but the vestibule is still tender.

6) Meditate, journal, or take a walk whenever I feel a buildup of stress and anxiety.7) Tell my friends about what I'm experiencing! No longer feel like its a secret or too private to talk about. The support has been wonderful.

8) Wear mainly skirts and pants that are 100% cotton or cotton/synthetics. No polyester!9) Eliminate certain foods from my diet - tomatoes, spinach, ginger, soda pop, white sugar (use sucanat now), tea, etc. I try and not eat too much variety per meal so that I can tell what bothers me right away.

10) Keep a daily log of what I do in my routine, and what my pain level is. I hope this is helpful. Best wishes,SheilaOn Dec 6, 2007 2:21 PM, Jane Stanley <

I am so glad for you. I can't even remember what pain free sex is like any more. It has been years that I had no pain afterwards. This gives me hope for the future. Did you do something different that resulted in the pain free sex? I hope everyone is doing good today? (((hugs)))) and :):) :) :) Jane SSheila A <

been able to do in forever!!We had sex yesterday morning, and I took a shower and a sitz bath after. I had no pain after, and feel fine today also.It is hard to believe it happened to be honest. I don't want to say I lost hope, but I had gotten very discouraged earlier this year. Now the next goal is to wear jeans again :) My clitoral pain isn't 100% so this may take a while longer!Smiles,Sheila Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.

You are welcome - awesome that your PT does craniosacral work.

Sheila,

Thanks for the ideas. I hadn't thought to try my dilators in the

shower - I will now! My PT does some craniosacral as well.

Hi Becky,Craniosacral therapy is used to correct any imbalances in the cerebrospinal fluid that is in your brain and spinal cord. You basically lay on your back for the session (an hour usually) and the therapist manipulates the bones in your cranium and inside your mouth to correct the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid.

This doesn't sound like it would help, since there is no direct manipulation of the pelvic area. So that is why I am still surprised by how much it has helped. I had read an article posed on this site about craniosacral therapy being an alternative to physical therapy, that is why I tried it!

Can you please explain craniosacral therapy? Thanks! Becky Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search.
