endo and IC/laparoscopy

I am getting a laparoscopy and cystoscopy one week from today! On top of my V pain, I've been having awful pain in the area of my ovaries that radiates down my thighs and around my lower back. They are checking for endometriosis, IC, and any scar tissue, etc. I have two questions: 1. Does anyone know if diarrhea is a symptoms of any of that? I've been having that off and on with bad cramping. 2. Any advice for the surgery/recovery? Thanks! Becky

Becky,

Diarrhea can be a symptom of endometriosis on the bowel area as

can constipation (this is part of why my endometriosis acts up).

This last time around my vulvodynia acted up a lot because of

the endometriosis flaring up. When my endometriosis recurs

(returns) to create a flare I always get a bunch of new symptoms

in addition to old symptoms I've had in the past.

A friend of mine who has endo pretty bad has had endo sitting on

her pelvic floor muscles which can cause problems to occur.

The average recovery time from a laparoscopy is about 1-2 weeks

depending on how much work is done during the surgery to find

the areas where the endo is.

Please eat lightly for the first several weeks afterward because

all that area around the stomach area will be quite sensitive.

I want to remind you that even if the laparoscopy says no endo

like before that doesn't necessarily mean that there's no endo

there. What that means is that the endo is in colors like clear

that a lot of doctors don't recognize or it's in areas where the

doctors have no experience in trying to remove endo from such as

behind the uterus.

Glad that you are going to have the surgery done hon. I hope

you get some answers.

Kristy :)
