Guest guest
I have been waiting for my visit with my new doctor for 3 months! I took this morning off of work. I called yesterday to confirm the appointment and they said yes we have you down for 10:55 am. SO then I drive about 25 minutes to the appointment, I get there and the receptionist says: Your doctor is not here today, she is at our other location (about an hour from my house). I said but I made the appointment here, then the receptionist proceeded to argue with me telling me that she told me it was at the other location. I would never drive that far when I could go to the closer location. Then they DID NOT call the other location to see if the doc could see me if I did drive over there. They just said YOu are out of luck, you will have to wait until January to see her. I said what if I could drive to the other location? They said OH well, you were her last appointment of the day, too late. I was so mad. When I called there yesterday they did not say YEs your appointment is confirmed at our other location. They made no mention of location at all. I called the director of the company today, but she still has not returned my phone call. What happened to customer service? The customer is always right. They could have apologized instead of arguing with me. I better not get charged for this missed appointment! They did put me on the call list in case anyone cancels otherwise I have to wait now until January 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter. Guest guest
, Sorry to hear about your doctor visit. I too have had the same sort of issues you had. My favorite is when I have an appointment somewhere difficult to get to or far away or that will need a driver to take me home like the U of M or the pain clinic and they call and cancel me the day of the appointment. This generally means that I am out both childcare money and my husband loses a sick day or vecation time. I have found that phone calls and letters and such have gotten me nowhere either. It seems as if doctors are so secure in their jobs that they are able to get away with these things. After all there is never a shortage of sick people. Guest guest
Send a letter of complaint anyways...it can't hurt. I've also been told that some people that complain do get better service because they're the squeaky wheel. I had a similar thing happen and they told me, "We not only called you, but we sent you a letter informing you of the change. It's documented in our notes and so that means it happened." I printed up my caller ID log from my phone (which went back past the time frame they said) and filed a HIPAA privacy complaint-because, as they said, they talked to SOMEBODY and sent a letter SOMEWHERE that I never receieved-so obviously they disclosed my personal information to SOMEBODY and that is a violation of the law. All of a sudden they changed their tune and turns out they HAD NOT called me. Idiots. Lindsey Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search.
