Guest guest
Hi I just joined this forum. I was part of another group for over 4 years but they changed it so you can only like you to discuss the treatments biofeedback and physical therapy. Anyhow, I have had vulvodynia for about 15 years maybe longer. It started as slight pain during intercourse and progressed into a debilitating 24/7 pain that involved burning, itching, tingling and rawness. It seems to have possibly started after a candida infection from taking antibiotics for a bladder infection. I have tried everything you can think of including all the diets for candida and herbs and drugs for it. Also been to all kinds of doctors and alternative practioners done juice fasts, herbs blah, blah won't bore you just believe me when I say I tried everything and some much effort and I only got worse and worse. Needless to say my life has become a real mess from this problem and worse of all I didn't get the support I should of had with this problem in fact I got a lot of abuse. But happily lately I have been acually feeling some improvement and wanted to post it so others might also possibly get relief. I know after reading others successes and trying them myself and them not working for me and sometimes making me worse that everyone is different and what works for one may not work for another's vulvodynia. So anyhow this is what has been working lately and I don't think it is a cure but it does seem to help. I was reading a lot of books on East Indian ayurvedic medicine and in there they say that coconut oil is good for inflammation. So I tried that for a while and it did help at least unlike a lot of other topical things it didn't make things worse. Then I found Banyan Botanicals Soothing Skin Balm and I really think that helps even more. Then about three days ago I bought some 100% pure neem oil in the vitamin store and also really feel some improvement from that. In fact tonight when I was taking a bath I noticed that the inner labia has always felt bumpy, I asked the doctor about this and he said it was just inflammed nerves there but tonight it acually feels smoother. Also earlier today I started getting some uncomfortable anal burning and used neem oil and it took that away. I noticed that in the Soothing Skin Balm one ingredient in there is neem leaf. I still like the soothing skin balm but for someone who wants to try something easy to get a hold of the neem oil seems to work for me also. I know one girl on the other forum I was on said it was really working for her and that was interesting for me to hear as I knew something was helping but wasn't sure it was that as I was doing several things. Well, take care, Baukti
