Guest guest
I took someone's suggestion on here and used oraell once, and it seemed ok. You might want to give that a try. Candi Numbing Question I have already put a call in to my Dr. but I wanted to get your ladiesinput on this. I am thinking about exploring the option of applyingsome type of numbing gel or cream internally so I can stand the act ofhaving intercourse. I have explored online but can't seem to get muchfeedback on this subject. Has anyone tried anything of this sort withany success? I am to the point now where I just need the burning to begone. I can stand everything else. Or am I just crazy? Anysuggestions or feedback is appreciated.Thanks.

Guest guest
Is that something similar to Orajel? I am a bit apprehensive about using it because it has a high risk of overdose if used on broken or irritated skin, although the skin inside your mouth isn't exactly tough so I'm not sure. I just don't want to hurt anything. I have read about lidocaine too but I don't know if it comes in something over the counter that can be applied internally. Thanks for the suggestion though. > > I took someone's suggestion on here and used oraell once, and it seemed ok. Guest guest
I don't have the same problem exactly, I had surgery 15 years ago and since then sex has always hurt alittle. I use A & D ontiment and believe it or not my gyn told me to us intensive care lotion and it works. Hope this helps a little. Guest guest
Lidocaine is the most prescribed numbing cream. It works, but for some it irritates like me so I cannot use it unfortunately. Guest guest
I used lidocaine and it didn't really help-also it can make the man "last longer" and cause more pain to you. I don't know about anyone else, but that was my experience with it. Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.
Guest guest
My doc is actually very open to just about any option that I choose. We've tried antidepressants, estrogen cream, anti-yeast, etc. etc. I'm sure there are plenty more options out there but since the pain I experience is only with insertion, I think the Lidocaine might put my mind to ease for the time being. I am calling again this morning so I will let you all know if I got it successfully. Thanks again for all the feedback. > > Being prescribed lidocaine so you can have sex is pretty standard. Is your doc on board? If not, you might want to consider getting a doc who know more about this subject so you don't have to suffer. > Lindsey > > > --------------------------------- > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
You know, I thought I was the only one who had pain with sex I had the surgery15 years ago and sex has always been uncomfortable for me, I grease my husband up with A & D ont. and I use vaseline intensive care lotion on my vulva and replens. It is an absolutely cream event,. G & G Re: Numbing Question I used lidocaine and it didn't really help-also it can make the man "last longer" and cause more pain to you. Guest guest
I haven't explored the option of A & D. Sounds like something I should discuss with my doc next time. Pain with sex is the only symptom that I experience so if I can at least have sex then I would be so relieved. I feel for all the others on here that have constant pain and discomfort everyday. Fortunately mine either hasn't progressed that far yet or is just isolated. I thought the surgery was supposed to help with those kinds of things so the fact that you are still having pain shows it sometimes isn't all it is cracked up to be. I haven't explored that option yet since there are so many more for me to try. I will ask about the A & D and see what happens. Thanks again. > > You know, I thought I was the only one who had pain with sex I had the surgery15 years ago and sex has always been uncomfortable for me, > I grease my husband up with A & D ont. and I use vaseline intensive care lotion on my vulva and replens. Guest guest
I agree with this one. This was my experience also. Guest guest
Hmmm I will have to try that. I currently use AstroGlide because I was told it was better than using KY. The burn I feel almost feels like it could be a reaction to the lubricant being exposed to irritated skin so I will have to try that. Thanks for the tip. Posted by: " patricia cortese " ptrccortese@... ptrccortese Mon Jan 14, 2008 9:02 am (PST) I saw a specialist at the Drexel University in Philadelphia and was told to use Almond Oil from a Health food Store as a lubricant during sexual intercourse. I have used and have had no problem. No affect on the skin. RICHARD GOODMAN wrote: listen, I don't want to be a bad advertisement for the surgery, I have read many post where the woman were pain free after the surgery. I need to clarify my experinece with sex for you. First of all my surgery was a success to the point that the burning I was experiencing stopped. I had to have the surgery because I let a doctor biopsy me and it finished me off, I would not heal, I was infected. I was a mess. Sex for me is uncomfortable, I don't experience pain, but I am very sore. In my case and some of the girls can jump in here, sex I believe might be worse for me because I burst my sutures when I had my surgery 15 year ago and have alot of scar tissue, and scar tissue makes for soreness. I just don't want to be a bad advertisement for the surgery, for some it is a good option. I like the A & D ont. You could probably use good old vaseline, but I figured they use A & D on babies so it can't be bad. But you listen to your doctor, each case is different. Guest guest
I have noticed allot more discomfort using astro glide. If you want to stick with regular loos I have had better luck with one called wet, adn also with ky warming jell. For some reason the warming jell doesn't earatate as much as the normal ky. Guest guest
I think Astroglide may have Propylene Glycol in it. That ingredient makes me burn. I use Femglide. --------- Re: Numbing Question> > > I used lidocaine and it didn't really help-also it can make theman "last longer" and cause more pain to you.
