Guest guest
I have been having some lesions that were first diagnosed as herpes but all blood-work is negative for over 6 months so now no doctors (seen 2) seem to have an idea of what it really is. I am puzzled and wondering if anyone out there has had any lesions that have not been related to herpes. They start as cracks, and then get deeper and sore and then heal in about a week, there is no scabbing. It has happened twice, only in times of true exhaustion and while on antibotics so it might seem to be yeast but there is no actual yeast present so I am not sure if that is possible. Any direction from anyone would help? I am worried. Thank- you.
Guest guest
Malibu, I would go to a gastroenterologist and ask to be tested for inflammatory bowel disease--Crohn's most specifically. Also, 80% of Crohn's patients have gluten sensitivity and most of those have dairy sensitivity which does almost as much damage. The only place to be accurately tested for gluten sensitivity (and also dairy and dietary yeast sensitivity)is at a lab called Enterolab who does it by mail. Also there is a lot of information and study that indicates that dietary yeast, baker's and brewer's yeast sensitivities may cause Crohn's Disease. Your lesions could actually be small or beginning fistulas.
